Are there variations in the shades of Type S OEM wheels? some dark some light...Pics

I have been searching for a Type S for a while now and have come across many cars that appear to have different finishes on the wheels. Im referring to the shade of gray in that some Type S's appear to have brighter gray wheels and some appear to have very dark ones. I also remember a post by a member here whos car got wrecked and a wheel needed to be replaced. It was replaced with a wheel that was clearly different than the other 3 originals and did not match at all. Then today on craigslist I saw two MRP Type S's and the wheels are IMO without a doubt different colors. IMO the darker ones look soooooooo much better it changes the look of the entire car.
I know lighting has a lot to do with it but in these pictures they are both pretty much overcast skies with basically no sunglight.
Ahhh crap so now I gotta add another factor on top of the already rare 6mt Type S I want and now its gotta have the darker OEM Type S wheels lol.

Here are the two pics. The MRP with the darker wheels looks 100 times better than the other one IMO.

So what are your guys thoughts on this?

Light wheels...looks kinda gross

And here is the Type S with VERY dark OEM wheels. Looks amazing!

I've noticed the same thing. The ones on my car are on the lighter side. Nothing a little brake dust can't fix.

I was just in the Acura dealer and noticed the Type S wheels were way darker that the set on my car. I asked him why and he said- The have been having a hard time getting the rims and there was a different vendor supplying the rims and that's the reason for the drastic change in color

What do you mean the type s wheels at the dealer? Like on a used car they had in stock or this was a set of oem wheels that were stocked there? So the newer replacements are the dark ones?

Since I've bought my TL-S, I've been paying more attention to this when I see other TL's with the darker wheels. (I have the lighter version) I'm considering getting mine custom painted "hyper black".

I believe mines are the lighter version as well. It does look better a little darker. Looks like a more shiny finish.
