Stock Wheel Spacers: 15 mm Front, 25 mm Rear - 235/45/17

Hey guys,

I've been perusing the threads with stock wheels and spacers, and the 15 mm front and 25 mm back have been the most suggested. However I've noticed that not too many people have stock wheels and coils / a big drop - I want to see if anyone will chime in on the following :

Front and rear fenders rolled,
Stock 2005 TL 5 spoke wheels, Stock offset is 45mm
15 mm spacer front,
25 mm spacer rear
Tein SA, Planned drop of 2.5 inches.

Fitment I'm going for looks like

I'm going to be running 235/45/17 (stock tire size) all around, as I want to get some more life out of these wheels and tires (and my brand new winter set ) before I go with XXR 530s.

Will the 235/45/17 be too beefy? I know with a +20 offset on the 530s most people run a 225 tire.

You'll need to run quite a bit of negative camber to clear if you want to be that low with 235s. Toe is the main killer when it comes to tire life, but camber comes into play as well.

This car has been sold but he had a similar setup:

https://acurazine.com/forums/photogr...photos-835280/

This is what he had to say about the drop with spacers:

Thanks, yeah its pretty low and i have wheel spacers so with the lower offset it even rubs more. I rub if i turn and theres a bump and i bottom out sometimes if im not watching for potholes lol. But i love the look and handling of being lowered on coilovers so its worth the risk
Keep in mind the larger the spacer, the more negative camber you'll need to run to clear the fenders. If I were you, I would get the spacers installed and adjust the coilovers until you can find a happy medium between wheel gap and driveability. Are you going to be getting any alignment parts (ball joints, UCAs, or rear arms) to keep alignment specs in check?

Thanks CL, I found him in the Photo Gallery not too long ago but forgot to bookmark the thread!

I read through pretty much the entire XXR 530 thread and I know people have issues with +20 offset and 235s so I'm thinking I might spring for some 225 Michelin Pilot Sport AS3s to run in the meantime while I put together the cash for either some Advans or Work MCOs.

I'm going to be going with Skunk2 camber arms in front and the SPC rear upper arms to make sure I can have full range fitment wise

Suspension wise I'm on eibach springs with Koni yellows. I'm running 225/40r18 on 18x8 Aspecs, with 20mm front & 25mm rears. No rubbing. When I put back on factory 5 spokes with 245/40r17 they rub on hard turns & bumps. 235/40 you might be able get away with, but idk bout 235/45. Hope helps some
