Thumbs down Stainless Steel Lug Nuts for 2007 Type S?

Anyone know where I can get Solid Stainless lug nuts for my 07 TL? The chrome Lug nuts just dont last. Do they make aluminum lug nuts?

Bought a set on ebay. The 4 wheels cost me about 50$ shipped. They were case hardened

I also hate the stock ones, they striped 1 bolt on each of my wheels.

They do make aluminum alloy lugs... Aluminum in itself isn't good for lug nuts, as aluminum can't have a lot of torque applied to it without deforming. It is a fairly soft metal. Even with the alloy ones you need to be careful. Always put them on by hand and spin them on by hand as far as possible before using anything else to tighten them. If they don't go at least 80% of the way with just your fingers! don't force them! Something is wrong.

I know Volk would sell them on Ebay in the past, but they were prone to fading really easily and would look like shit after only one year.

As for stainless lugs- I dunno. Just gotta google around to see what comes up. I'm sure they should be available.

That's not necessarily the oem lug nut's fault. It can happen with any lug nut. Like I said, put them on by hand first before tightening with a [torque] wrench.

Sometimes shit just gets messed up, whether it's because some debris is on the bolt, or inside the lug nut, or there was corrosion that messed something up, or they were overtorqued, or...

Also, be careful with what you buy. Don't put your life on the line with a subpar, made in buttfucknowhere, never tested product because it sells for cheap. Going with a well known brand, like Gorilla (I think), amongst others, has it's merits.

Gorilla is exactly what i bought. They had the case hardened chrome plated Honda lug nuts for about 50$ or you could buy the red type-s style for another 20$. Don't really care about the color.

As for the lug nut, i never use a pneumatic tool, i always used a tire cross and always made sure the nut keeps turning with a simple tap on the cross. What I did find odd is all the nuts that stripped didnt have the plastic ring on them. Not sure when that happened as I always had my tires replaced for summer/winter until recently where i bought 2 sets of tires and i'd change them myself. Must have been done by the tire place.

lol

But honestly, McGard Spline Drive is what you need. I think they make them for the stock wheel seat.
