The 2005 silver sparkle look a shade or two lighter than the 2004 "Gunmetal"/Silver Sparkle.

BTW, the code number on my 2004 A-spec wheel is 08W18-SEP-200

I just recently (three days ago) bought a replacement wheel, and the only way they'd sell it to me was if I provided my VIN# to prove that it was a replacement wheel, and not intended to be added as a new set. They are conserving their limited supply b/c, as previously mentioned in this thread, they are no longer producing this color.

Arrow "Hyperblack" on NBP

Attached are links to pics of my 2004 NBP TL with the 18" wheels that come as part of the 2005 A-spec package. I've heard them referred to as "hyperblack" and "platinum." They are high polish in appearance. I hope that these help you some...

I've been trying to decide which wheels to get for my NBP....Well, I think this thread did ti for me. I like the Silver Sparkle!!! The "platinum" looks great on the blue TL, but I think it's a little too "bling" on the black...Just my opinion...no offense to anyone.

Ravi...got any more pics of your car??

Anyone have pics of a NBP with body kit AND silver sparkle wheels??

Thanks.

What if you purchased the 2004 A-Spec wheels after the time of delivery, like I did?

its lowered on comptech 1inch all around.
i Would get the a-spec kit but i think it would make the car look a little higher. If it was dropped just a bit more with the kit it would be a perfect combo.

Btw the wheels might look a bit tucked in those pics, i got the SPC kit soonow the wheels are straight SPC kit highly recommended my camber was off quite a bit.

yeah, now i am gonna have to see both the silver sparkle (which i love now...think these are for me!) with the body kit! i think Ravi might have me sold with a 1 '' drop instead of the kit....i think the SS wheels, 1''drop and a lip spoiler might be it for me....but i need to see the kit now, with the SS wheels

I did exactly as you did, so the process I went through is the same you'll go through as well -- just provide the dealership your VIN#.

How would your VIN give the dealer any information about whether you had 18s already and were just trying to replace them or were trying to buy a whole set of 18s?

I bought mine 2 or 3 months after I got the car and had them installed at a Firestone.

Perhaps they are now starting to log those who are purchasing individual rims... and assuming those people are replacing rims, rather than slowing purchasing rims to make a new set of four .. don't know for sure though, it's a good question.

I had my 2004 OEM 18s installed at time of delivery by the dealer and kept the receipt from the dealership I bought the rims from (not the same one I bought the car from).

Lore: keep your receipt showing that you purchased them a while back. You may want to call your dealer as well and pose the question to them.

Just got a SSM/Ebony TL and I'm trying to decide which 18" wheels to get but I'm a bit confused.

Per the pics of 3 wheels at the beginning of this post, I like the 1st wheel, the Sparkle Silver, but I think it might be too light for the SSM TL, or the 3rd wheel, the "Hyper Black" because I think the darkness might contrast better with the light silver SSM paint.

However - the dealer can only order three wheels, the 18" Sparkle Silver, the 18" Chrome, or (what they call) the 18" A-Spec wheel - is this "A-Spec wheel" the same as the "hyper Black" above?

Thanks for any advice.

2005 A-Spec Hyper Black/Platinum or whatever... I've given up on what to call these wheels.

I prefer 200B! (Part #)

Just make sure what the part number is and they will know.

Since you have an 04 with the A-Spec package, are those, are those truly sparkle silver on your SSM TL? If so, they look really good and not too "chrome-y" on the SSM - the contrast isn't too bad at all....now I'm really torn....

The wheels are Sparkle Silver. I purchased them about a month ago from Falconi Acura. The wheels are not as light as you may think. They're a shade or two darker than the car color. I think the color difference is a nice contrast. Better than the wheels perfectly matching the car like the oem 17's. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. Very nice car BTW.

I have a great dealer - the parts manager there is looking for a set a '04 A-Spec Gunmetal wheels for me - she found and ordered two already, now all I need is another two...

If she can't find a good set, I decided upon sparkle silver.

I just got my car delivered here to work about 30 mins ago - and the 18" Sparkle Silver look great on the car - thanks for the great advice!

I'm very glad I didn't go with the Platinum/Dark 18" A-Spec wheels, though they may look better with darker colors and for people who may like more bling.

Once again - thanks so much for your photos - they were what tipped the scales to the Sparkle Silver.

question about warranty; would the dealer installed A-spec suspension be covered if installed at the time of purchase for the full 4 yr 50000 mile warranty. I was planning on buying the car in CA and then having the A-spec installed in AZ which is where I live and now I am confused again...thanks, please let me know.

Nice wheels. I like them a lot.

Is this a good deal on silver sparkle w/yokohama tires less than 1K miles for $1300 shipped?

Are the Apec wheels (specifically sparkle silver) clearcoated? Do they require polishing to stay looking nice?
