A spec wheels chipping?

I have a set on the A spec 18's and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the finish chipping off. Both wheels on the right side have the gunmetal finish pealing off to a silver undercoat. I bought the car used with 20,000 miles and one of the chipping rims had been curbed, however the other rim was fine, just the finish was chipping.

Anyone know anything about this?

I only run mine from March to December and then switch to the original 17" with winter tires for winter; wash by hand 95% of the time. I have had no problems with the Aspec rims so far at all.

Sorry about the rims, sounds pretty crappy and would piss me off.

Had the same issue. Dealership replace 2 wheels under warranty. They are having issues with the finish on the '04 gunmetal wheels. I wonder if that's why they are phasing them out? The dealer said it was a common occurence.

Have you taken it to the dealership, yet? Maybe worth a try. It worked for me.

I plan on taking it in next week, Hopefully they will replace both rims even though one has been damaged. I'll let you know how it goes.
