A SPEC Tires Question Yoko's or Michelin's
I was advised by another member to get the Michelins vs the Yoko's for my 2006 A SPEC TL. The Dealer wants another $400 for the change out. The car is being put together this week and I'm picking her up next Friday for Xmas.
Anyway, is it worth another $400 for the Michelins? I live in Dallas, TX so the Yoko's should be fine most of the year. Maybe for the next few months it might be a bit cold.
Let me know asap.
Thanks

I love my Yokos for the driving that we do......we do plenty of highway driving and have had no issues even around 160kms/hr. I got a break on the price as my dealer priced them incorrectly when I purchased the car in 2004.........two months ago I had them replaced after they wore out quickly due to the rear suspension issue....now I have new Yokos and the ride is GREAT!!!

Demetrius,
Thanks for the info. I guess if they work well in the Great White North, they should do fine here in Texas. I am kinda at my spending limit on this car anyway. Though another $400 would not break me, but I'd rather keep that $$ for Xmas gifts.
Thanks.

Have have had experience with both brands. Both operate a bit differently. Yokohama are great....have em myself. Went to Michelins for winter tires.....and have had michelin pilot summer tires.....IMHO.....both are good tires. I wouldnt pay $400 extra for the michelins...thats for sure...take the yokohamas! You will be just fine in your area as long as there is not snow! Only difference in Yokohama and Michelin summer tires are Yokos tend to flat spot a bit more in colder weather than michelins...but when warmed up...are all good! I run yoko myself in summer!
