A-spec Tires

I'm thinking about buying a set of A-spec rims and was wondering what size tires I could go with. I know 235 40 18 is stock but can I go with 235 45 18?

I have the A-spec rims and went with 245/40/18's. Love them.

I think those would throw off your speedometer. You will need to run 235/40/18 to compensate for the factory wheel size of 235/45/17 and keep speedo correct.
Besides, a 40 series tire will have a "stiffer" side wall and handle better with the 18" wheels.
Go with the 235/40/18 OR 245/40/18 (this will work too)

It depends what year A-spec wheels you buy. The 04s were 18x8.5 and 05-on were 18x8. I have the 18x8.5 and I run a 245/40, 235s dont cover the edges of the rim with the 8.5 inch wheel. 245/45 would throw off the speedo.

^^ Any closeup shots of your tires and rims?

How does this setup perform and feel?

Are you happy with this?

I don't know if this is close enough but check it out.

It performs and feels great. I am really happy with it. I run Goodyear Eagle F1s by the way.

245/40 is the quiet ride... 235/40 is a slightly noisy ride because there is less meat... but 235/45 or 245/45 will not only throw the speedo off but make the car feel like it is tipping into corners...

245/40-18 should have been the tire the car came with because it offers a quiet ride and sidewall protection

That's weird....a 245/40/18 is only a few millimeters taller than the OEM 235/45/17...depending on the tire brand. Regardless, at OEM height, I'm shocked that it's rubbing!

Hmmmm....the 18 X 8.5 A-Spec is one of the wheels that I'm considering in the very near future...and a mild drop. Does anyone else have rubbing at lock?

alignment must be off... not supposed to be rubbing inside... regardless that isn't "real" rubbing... that is weather liner being dumb

I am lowered 1.5" 18x8.5 +35 245/40-18... and yes I've rubbed that same area but I have some negative camber
