A-spec suspension vs '07 TLS suspension

I am on the verge of purchasing some A-spec wheels and was wondering what the difference is between the suspension that I have on my '07 TLS ASM and the A-spec suspension?

The picture in my avatar is my car, but that was when I had Eibach Pro Springs on which thru the camber off. I have since removed them and was thinking of placing the A-spec suspension on. I like it lower but was wondering the handling differences in the A-spec and TLS stock suspension.

who put the springs on? were they aligned correctly because thats the only thing i can think of that'll throw anything off....the camber isnt adjustable in the tl either so it would have to be something else. i did the tein springs in the car when i got it and didnt do them correctly and my axles blew out and alignment was thrown off by so much it wasnt even funny. now im on aspec but considering putting the teins back on.

Well the tl-s aspec suspension is not all that much of an upgrade imo... You should go back to the eibach's and get camber kit if it was that "off"...

the only way the cambers could be off is if something is bent bro....no way is it happening otherwise. especially on an inch drop i can see something going wrong on a 3 inch drop not an inch

Tripnbeats and stillhere153 thanks for the advise. When the A-specs arrive in the next 3-4 days and I decide on the tires to get for them, that's when I will do the springs to drop again. It is a PIA to get out of the car when it is lowered, but the looks are worth it.

I had the Ebony A-specs mounted up last Thursday and really like the look on the car. They have that darker look, but in different light look polished. Now I need to decide whether to follow thru with the A-spec suspension? Probably wait for a while to decide because I don't know if I want it that low with the driveways, curbs, and generally getting in and out of the car, but it looks so good without the space between the tires and the fender wells.[IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

LOL the A-Spec suspension is not going to create issues with the road, it's barely a 1 inch drop...

I have a TL-S and I upgraded to the A-Spec suspension and this statement is flat out wrong. The A-Spec suspension is a huge difference.

In fact, when I first put it on I wondered if I made a mistake because the ride was so much stiffer. But after the shocks settled a bit, the ride was very pleasant. The car corners much better and there is less dive when braking. The drop is also just right. I recommend the upgrade to anyone with a TL-S.

Do you have a picture of your car from the side to see the drop more accurately?
I noticed you also have Progress RSB. That was also on my list to do at the same time I put the A-spec suspension on.

stillhere,

Have you driven all of the configs above? If so, what's your opinion on

type s struts + eibach springs vs. type s aspec struts + eibach springs

Just curious, I'm thinkin of a drop, but don't want to pay too much and don't want to lose too much on the ride. Been researching this for a while, but looks like you may have experienced all of these configs....I hope.

Thanks for all the information. It looks like the A-spec suspension is just what I want. I don't understand why there is a difference in the A-spec suspensions from manual to automatic. I have 5AT on my '07 TLS.

Because the automatic has an extra 150 lbs up front. The springs have to be heavier to compensate.

so if i was looking to go the cheaper route cause ive spent way too much in the past month...

i could keep the stock type s struts(these are same as shocks right?) and get the eibach springs for like under 300 bucks...

im good to go if i onyl want to lower an inch?

will they cause the stock shocks to wear prematurely?

Yeah I am getting ready to pick up an 08 Type S with 6sp. I was looking to go the Aspec route as well. Not looking to go to extreme and I still want to keep my ride quality.

TRUST ME when i say this...A-SPEC suspension is the way to go if you want excellent handling but do not want to sacrifice the overall ride quality. Also if a minimal drop is what you are lookin for, DO IT. in the streets of chicago, i CANT ride around super low considering this is my daily driver. NO REGREATS from this end.....grab an RSB while your at it....you'll be happy TRUST...my $.02
