The suspension package, as defined by Acura, is coilovers plus wheels and tires...$2,800 is list price. Check on eBay or with the dealers/vendors here to see if you can get it for less.

I order the suspension from Las Vegas Acura for $700 shipped, had a local guy, Dennis install for $150. I just order body kit from hondacuraworld for $800. Same guy will install for about same price. I'll have him put the RSB on as well.

I called local Acura to install suspension before I knew about Dennis. The dealer said it was a 6 hour job and with the alignment it was going to run $725. Dennis put it on with NO power tools and NO lift, in 2 1/2 hours.

Is the A-spec suspension just the coilovers? If they're that much...why not just get the Tien SS?

Yes it's coilovers. I went with Aspec because I didn't want a big drop, just wanted the tight-ass suspension. Also the Aspec was built specially for the Acura.

Do you have to get an alignment after you install just the a-spec springs on the stock struts?

Always get an alignment after suspension work.

I would love to get the A-spec for that reason, but I hear the drop isn't that much. Can you tell if the car has been lower with the A-spec?

It lowers it slightly...half an inch to three quarters. I measured before and after and it dropped half an inch; it has settled some since, but not much. It does not lower it the inch Acura claims. It looks nice overall, and the improved handling is worth it, even if it didn't lower it at all.

How does it compare to the Tien SS (handling-wise)

Seems like a good price for the A-spec, but the only downside is the .5" drop, whereas the SS are fully adjustable. Just from looking at it, I would think a car w/ tuned Tien SS's would handle better than the same car w/ A-spec coilovers. Maybe i'm wrong..

So it's just coilovers.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess that would narrow it down to either Tein SS or Koni/Eibach combo. I really would like to have the look as well as the handling. Also like anyone, the cheapest way to go.

This is what you get. Just take them out of the box and put then on the car. The lower on the car looks nice. My left rear shock blew out 2 days after I got them on, waiting for a new one to come in.

I would also like to get the Aspec suspension for my '06 6MT. Just moved to Dutchess county NY and if anyone knows an Acura dealer in this area which does good work, please let me know.
Thanks

Fred

The install is really simple! If you have jacks and simple tools you can do it yourself. When i installed mine, i never had any expericence with cars at all. I still haven't even try changing oil yet!! So when i say it's easy, it's easy

i did start to try, i removed the bottom seat (took 45 minutes) and then started to remove the top. I couldnet get to all the bolts and the back portion didn't come off. In the process, i think i might have messed up a few things so i most likely will give it to acura to do. BTW, i'm not all that good when it comes to ripping apart my car, but after acura does the a-spec install, i might remove the back seat to put in some dynamat. BTW, how old are you whatjones911?
