A spec suspension 500$
Im not sure if I should go Tein SS, but the A SPEC suspension I'm getting is 500$ including shipping. I heard that the Tein SS cost about a grand so I dunno if its worth spending an extra 500 for a Tein SS. Since I decided not to get the ASPEC kit until I drop my car either the a spec for 500 or tein ss for like 1000

well there is a huge difference betwee nthe a-spec and tein SS honestly if I were you i would either go with the tein basics for 800 or save up and get the tein SS's which is what im doing the A-spec suspension is alright but its only a .75" drop i beliee which is nothing compared to the tein SS search all 3 before buying

They advertise a 1" drop, but many members have measured a 1/2" to 3/4" drop only.
If you're looking for a drop larger than this....Go aftermarket...If youre looking for improved performane, slight drop, yet not overly aggressive - ASpec maybe right for you.

ASpec, from what i hear, is firm ...firmer (is that even a word?) than stock, but not annoying...
All this is subjective from person to person...Maybe it may be in your best interest, if this is possible, to test drive an ASpec equipped car. Maybe a local dealer has one on their lots?

idk about the ride being smoother but if u want to sell it there is always someone who will buy it and if u cant sell it on the here theres always ebay or something in my opinion it sounds lie u dont want to go crazy so just buy the a-spec u wont see a noticeable drop

Just want to add my 2 pennies in here. I have the aspec and love the way it rides, but I am not happy with the way it sits. It has about a 3 finger gap in the front and a 2 finger gap in the rear. Performance wise, it is excellent, it rides and handles like a dream. However I will be swiching to coilovers very soon so I can get that height adjustability. I will add that if you get the 6SPD Aspec suspension and put it on an auto it supposedly sits even at about 2 finger gap front and rear which would look nice. Just something to take into consideration.

I've had both A-Spec suspension (came factory on my 6MT) and I now have the Tein SS with EDFC. The Teins are like a 2" drop even most of the way up. I'd suggest you go with Eibach Pro-Kit which is a 1.2" drop and will not be near as rough as the Teins. The spring rates on the Teins is pretty extreme, but on decent roads they do ride nice. Just a little lower than I really wanted. You can not go back up to stockish heights.

I really like my A-Spec suspension. I didn't want to have an over aggressive drop and I feel that the A-Spec is perfect. The car handles great and as long as I feel good driving it... I'm happy. Good luck with what ever you decide.

After a few months of driving, the front end total drop is around ~1". Rear end is ~1/2 - 3/4" drop.

what we need is something that is in between the a-spec and tein drop, i'm guessing the only way to do this is with springs and koni yellows but i don't feel like doing another suspension swap just yet. the a-spec rides awesome, it's just too bad the drop is pretty small.

this is very well put. i've had a-spec and tein ss and the tein's standard drop is a lot lower than the advertised .9" due to sag and what not, even if the shocks are adjusted closer to the top.

imo a-spec rides better than tein for a daily driver. teins are firmer and have less body roll and less travel, so they can get choppy if you are on wheels bigger than 18's driving on bad city roads and highways. on smooth roads it does ride nice and overall, teins have a good ride considering how low you're rolling.
if you have nice wheels and need a real drop though, a-spec isn't going to cut it. nice wheels only look really good and the overall look comes together when you have a nice drop about 1.5" or lower. an aggressive offset helps the look too.

To the OP...would someone buy slightly used ASpec for 500? Maybe...Brand New from Tim at hondaacuraworld sells for about 660 shipped. Just something to think about.
Consider in your decision no only resell, but where you live, the size of your wheels, and looks. Drop, in my opinion, is great. But if you live in a city riddled with potholes whose city govt cannot keep up with em and the quanity and density is such that, they are unavoidable (chicagoians, you know what im talking about....), Too much drop will just cause you heartache at the end of the day.

I bought my car with the A spec suspension. I will preface this comment by saying that I'm coming off an RSX-S with megan racing fully adj coilovers. and the fact that I'm picky as all heck about how perfect the stance of the car is. I also upgraded to a TL for comfort and the fact that I'm pushing 30. The A spec feels nice and smooth and buttery, but to me, it doesn't even look like the car is lowered...I guess if the front and back were even it would be one thing, but the front gap is just too big for me. It looks like the front of the car is pointing up from my perspective and I don't like it. Also, I can tell you, the handling on A spec is NOTHING like a full coilover system. I had my megans to 1 finger gap all around and a pretty soft setting on the shock and it looked nice, handled like a go cart, and wasn't unbearably rough at all. I just bought some tein ss's off of ebay and I'm thoroughly looking forward to slapping them on and making the car look mean. I read a review somewhere on here by someone that went from aspec (i think) to tein basics, to tein ss. He had kids and commutes etc and he said that the basics were a lot harsher. Probably because of lack of adjustability on the shock.
Afterthought, also, since we have some torque with our motor (I have 6sp) when you take off I HATE the feeling of the nose of the car shooting up and down between shifts. It feels like a boat.
As far as the OP question...I'd rather be halfway there cashwise, than go on the mission of installing the aspec and then having to uninstall and resell. Stay stock, or go with adjustability.
That's all. My opinion.
