A-Spec Rims
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know why the A-Spec rims are discontinued? Is it because of new ones are coming or are there any issues?
Thanks.

New ones are definitely coming. My TL is here today and I'm picking it up Tueday but they have to give me the 17's until the A-spec rims are finalized. According to my sales guy it had something to do w sizing. I think the appearance is supposed to be basically the same. Also, as many probably know, the EL42's are out of there and the Pilot Sport A/S's are the norm.

It came from my sales guy, he seems about as honest as you can get for someone in auto sales but that still only gets you so far. We originally negotiated the deal for the EL42's and he called me up a couple weeks ago and said they couldn't get them anymore and they were being replaced w a Michelin tire. I hopped on here, figured out they were probably the Pilot Sport A/S's, called him back, and he confirmed that's what they were. The words "The EL42's are being discontinued and the Pilot Sports are now the new standard" were not said but it certaily seemd that way.
I'm picking the ride up on Tuesday so I'll try to find out more info on what the rims look like (supposed to be the same or very similar) and confirming the Michelin's as standard A-spec tires. Also need to figure out what the ETA is on the new rims, I don't want to be seen w the 17's for too long.

Dealer said it has something to do w sizing and the tires rubbing. I assume that means somewhere in the wheel well but he didn't have any more info. Unknown delay on the new rims.

The new rims are now available. They are the same design, they now come in a silver finish not dark gray. For whatever reason they are now only 18 by 8in, no longer 8 1/2. They use the same tire and size too i believe.
