A-Spec 18x8 and 18x8.5

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between 18x8 and 18x8.5? Since the 2004 A-Spec is 18x8.5 and later on changed to 18x8, will I still be able to use the 18x8.5 on the 05 and up? thx.

yep...its just a measure of the width of the wheel.....8.5 is wider than 8.

also the color on the 8.5 is different

8.5 = dark gunmetal

8 = sparkle silver... black chrome or regular chrome

Be sure to run the 255/40/18 on the 8.5 wheel

is 255/40/18 the standard requirement from acura? that seems kind of wide. wouldn't that rub?

The 04 came with 235/40/18 from Acura and they had nothing but problems since the wheel was wider than the tire. I've been running 255's on my A-spec for three years now and they have NEVER rubbed.

Acura should have put 255's on to begin with and they would not have had to go to the inferior 8" wheel the following year
