Snow Tires
In the past when I put snow tires on, I get steel rims for the snow tires, in order to protect the Aluminum rims. I've been told that there are no steel 17" rims for TL. I have been advised to go to a 16" rim with a taller tire, any thoughts if the 16" rim with taller tires is OK? Does anyone know of steel 17" rims fo 2004 TL in Toronto area?

Hey Angelo,
Green and Ross have 17" steels advertised but when I call them they don't have them in stock. Did you go back to the dealer to ask for winters, or are you looking somewhere else? All the dealers seem to want to sell me a winter tire package complete with the default 17" alloys. The price is outrageous--$1800 CDN for a set of 4 wheels with rims. I think 16" steels should be ok for the automatic TLs, but the manuals have Brembos and oversized rotors which won't fit 16s.

I puchased 16" RIM from Acura dealer for $50 CAN each.
Then 16" winter tires (215-55-16 Michelin Pilot Alpine PA2) from Costco for a very good price (promotion until Nov 8th).
The 16" will work only the AT and not the MAN.
Hope this help.
