Shock/Strut/Spring

Hey all, I have been looking around this forum for a while and finally signed up today. Anyway, I have an 05 TL 6M w/Nav. I am thinking of dropping the car about an inch and don't need anything overly aggressive.

My goal is to achieve a 1"-1.5" drop with the following:
1) Minimal impact on ride qaulity.
2) Even Drop (I have read Eibach prokit is lower in back)
3) Not overly aggressive set up (adjustable coilovers)
4) Cheapest method keeping qaulity in mind.

I've read about Tien Springs are good. What are my other options.

If you are looking for a 1" drop go with the Comptech or Eibach springs. They will be slightly firmer than stock springs and are not too aggressive. If you don't have more than 40-50k miles on your vehicle you can do the springs without having to worry about replacement of the struts.

Have you considered the A-Spec suspension ? It should give a reasonable drop but maintains a luxury sport feel. Then add the Comptech Rear Stabilizer Bar if you feel the need to get even more out of those on ramps.

Re the even drop: I think the TL stance seems to be canted forward with the stock suspension so a larger drop in the rear would look more natural. As I recall the A-spec drops the back slightly more than the front.

My car has under 20K miles on it. I would consider just swapping out the springs but have read the stock struts don't handle performance springs very well.

Where could I get the A-spec suspension (not from dealer!) ?

With both the A-spec, and the eibach/comptech springs, you will have a larger drop in the rear vs. the front. I've had both, currently on comptechs and don't really like that part about it. If anything, I think H&R springs get you the desired goal because it drops the front more.

THanks for the info, I haven't heard a lot of talk about the HR combo on this board? Can anyone recommend a model? what struts should I couple with these for the least "jarring" ride.
