Shed some light for me (Tires, Rims, etc)
Hey Guys,
I'm actually very new to this side of the forum. I've been upgrading everything on my car except suspension (besides the RSB). But now, in two weeks, I'm installing Tein SS, with EDFC, camber kit, etc etc.
Anyways, down to the main point. My tires are bald, and I really need new tires and possibly new rims, so people can get off my back about the stock rims. I personally like the type-s rims, but everyone is still looking down on them just because of the "stock factor."
I did searches, didn't find the critical information I needed. I hope I don't get flamed for this.
If I was to stick with my stock rim's, what's the BEST tire size to get, I saw Inaccurates 255/40/17 set up, but any other suggestions on sizes and brands?
If I was to upgrade to 18"s or 19"s what do I need to worry about? I'm planning to drop my car 1.75 inches. What brands do you recommend? I also love the 3 piece deep dish looks. I've looked into DPE, but they are extremely pricey.
Any other info would be highly appreciative. Like I said, I'm very new to this side of the forum, any advice will help.

I like my T1Rs but yeah they are $$$$. Your questions are extremely general so I don't even know where to start. I would say just do your research. You said you are new to this section of the forums so my advice is spend more time in this section of the forums and read, read and read some more.

I don't know too much about tires, so I won't say anything about that, besides I ran 235/45/17 (I believe) on my stock 04/06 wheels, but I want to throw my in about wheels.
Honestly, I love the dropped on stockies look. If you were to upgrade to new rims, but didn't want to over do it, get a set of A-Specs. I just got a set of Gunmetal 18x8.5 A-Specs this past week. They are being put on the car next Monday and I can't wait. If you want something a little more aggressive and not so "generic", I would do a multi-piece staggered set-up. You really can't go wrong with that.
I would replace the tires on the stockies for now and keep researching for a while until you know exactly what you want. Look around and see what you like, don't rush into anything. Replace the stockies with what you purchase. Put the 17" stockies here on the Black Market and they should sell pretty quick.
All just my btw. Do what's best for you

Check out my review of the Nitto NT05 tire. I'm posting pictures right now. It's just short of a full R compound, there's really only one non racing tire that comes close. If you're looking for pure performance, this is it. I'm running 255/40s on stock rims. These tires run a little thin and they look perfectly at home on stock rims.
