RSX Type S wheels on TL???

Quick ?? Wondering if 17" rsx type s wheels would clear brembo calipers on my 3rd gen tl... If not wat size spacers would i need?? Have heard mixed feedbak that theyre lightweight wheels so wouldnt ride gd on the heavy tl chasis. Also have heard that if i use spacers to use smaller ones (5mm less) in front. Any input is appreciated thank you!!

I can't help you with fitment, but I can tell you that whomever told you that lightweight wheels wouldn't ride good on a heavy TL chassis is an idiot. Less unsprung weight is always better. Always. Not some of the time, not part of the time, all of the time.

I'd love to see that...they should clear...they aren't very concave or anything...
but I'm guessing based on having owned some but not test fit.

cool shyt. better than heavy wheels though, are light ones.

Well, that's pretty easy, man...
by HOW MUCH did they not clear?!?!
You can run a 5 to 7MM slap on spacer pretty easily...just make sure to center the wheel when you torque down with the lug nuts.
If you need more, go with a 15MM front spacer and probably 20 to 25 rear dependent on how much clearance you have, if you're lowered and if you have rolled fenders.

They are only 7" wide and 235/45-17 tires require 7.5" minimum width.
Actually no one seems to adhere to recommendations though.

well, he assumed that because you knew the specs on an RSX wheel you were also there when he test fit and could give him a legit measurement on how much more clearance he needed.
Just typical spoon feeding when in reality he's the only one that can feed US the answer to this question...and there may be others looking for that answer. Give, don't take!

You think 100mm will give too sunken a feel though? I was leaning towards 150mm just to be safe.

Oh and of course with extended studs... Because safety first

Use flat washers, maybe 1/2" ID (small OD) over 3 of the studs to build up equally until the wheel clears the caliper by at least 3mm or @ 1/8" (Brembo Spec).
Anything over @ 5mm, then longer studs will be needed.

Just thought I'd add, the flat washers are used for measurement only, not to be used as spacers when driving the car.
When wheel in correct position measure thickness of washers used and that will be the size of the spacer needed.

As above stated, 7mm used and no problem. Guess anything thicker, longer studs would be needed.
