Rotating tires

Guys,

1. I rotated my tires yesterday, the rear wheel comes out no problem, but when I tried to loosen the lug nuts on the front wheel, the front wheel is (kind) of spinning... I put the vehicle on park, and set the hand brake on already... I thought that should lock the wheel... hmmm .. any idea?
The rear wheel is completely locks - no problem... I tried to spin the front wheel with my hand.. well it's kindda rotating (not really locks, but not really spinning either)
I ended up told my girlfriend to press on the break as I tried to loosen it up.
Well I rotate the tires already, but why is the front tire still moving when I put on "P" and set the parking brake on already?

2. My car is lowered about 1.5" with tein ss... I just use the original scissor jack and couple jack stand.... well, as everybody knows, scissor jack sucks.... especially on the lower car... there barely any space at all... I was very careful try not to let the "end part" of the scissor jack hit my car body (kit).... and it takes forever....
Now, i'm considering to get "floor jack", but is that better for lowered car? as far as space (not hitting body part) when jacking....
For those who has lowered car, what is the best way to jack up your car?

Parking brake only functions on the rear wheels.

If you did have the car in park, you must of had both front wheels off the ground for the one to spin. The opposite side should have been spinning as well yet in the opposite direction.
The reason for the "spinning resistance" on the front is due to the fact its front wheel drive and your spinning the differential etc.

Cheers

ramps or a low profile floor jack- which then needs a 4x4 block to reach high enough to get a good lift~

can anyone recommend any good floor jack?

I probably need low profile floor jack? since there isn't that much space underneath the body kit (car lowered about 1.5")
is there any different between regular and low profile jack? going to sears / autozone tommorow to buy one.... does it really say "low-profile"? is there any spec I should pay attention to?

01tl4tl: do i still need to to get ramps? I already have couple jack stands.... and what is 4x4 blocks? how do I use it with floor jack? sorry for noob question

You're not actually taking a wrench to remove the lug nuts while the car is jacked up, are you?

Procedure:

1. Park car on level surface
2. Put cat in Park, or 1st Gear
3. Apply E-brake
4. Crack all 20 lugnuts loose
5. Jack up car and support with jackstands
6. Remove lugnuts
7. Rotate tires in the propper pattern
8. Snugly tighten lugnuts
9. Remove jackstands and lower car
10. Use a torque wrench to finish tightening lugnuts (80 ft/lbs)
11. Take it for a spin

Michelin makes aluminum one, but it is very expensive ($300 in Canada). Instead, you can use four pieces of 2x4 planks about 2’ long, drive your car on top of them and any jack will fit.

On my lowered rides, I always used something like this

Slide easily, and with a few pumps the car is jacked nicely, but they are heavy, and not something you would want in the trunk, except in the winter for weight

And don't worry, you are not the first one, who jacks up the car, and then tries to take the lugs off I've seen this plenty.

OK. Sorry for the reading remark. I agree about price. Actually it is now $200 in Canada. As things are generally cheaper in US, price could be acceptable. It is nice, lightweight, low jack.
