Rim width

I appologize first if this is posted somwhere. I am currently out in the middle of the ocean with the Navy and I have very limited internet access, so I am restricted in how long and fast i can search for something. Ok my question, I am going to get 19" rims for my TL. I am wondering if anyone knows the maximum width the rim can be before it will start to rub. I have found a few rims that i like but they are 9 or 9 1/2 inches wide. Also can anyone tell me the width of the stock rims so i can compare. Thanks for the help and sorry if this is a repeat.

It depends on the offset. For the fronts, 19x8.5 is about the widest you can go (35-45 offset) without modifying your fenders. The back you can fit some 19x9.5's (30-40 offset). Throw some 245/35/19 tires on there and your good to go.

the wider the wheel, look for a higher offset (in the rear) 9.5" wide is the max you can get on a 245 tire.... 245 shouldnt rub if your offsets are above +40

People have gotten X9's in the front without any modifications (JJaber comes to mind off the top of my head)...X9.5's in the rear with no mods, depending on tire size.

^^ How much negative camber are you running to compensate?

ill be running 8.5/9.5 +45 soon. car is down 1.7" and it shouldnt rub on a 245/30/20

Andy,
does your setup rub at all? did you have to do any cutting or modifying to get them to fit?

Im lookin at the Axis Shine in 20x9 front an 20x10 rear on an 06 auto. Do you think I will have any problems?

thanks!!
