rim @ tire size question?

I'm considering putting 18" by 7.5" rims with 225 40 18" tires on.
Will they fit with stock offset? I have a 2002 TL type S. If not, what do I have to do? What does offset mean? Many Thanks ahead, for any help. I will be selling my stock rims if anyones interested. Peace and GOD Bless many and all.

Regards,
Ratfink

First I think you need to understand what offset is. This may help explain it to you...click here.
Our stock offset is +55. If you're going with 18 x 7.5 make sure the offset is at least +45 or greater.....closer to +55 the better.
Good luck.
