Rice to Nice? What color to paint the wheels...?

Long story short, I painted my wheels hoping for a certain outcome, but it was freaking FAR from it. So what do you think would look best?

The only rice I see is the taillights and the exhaust tips. I'd focus on changing those up ASAP.

I voted bronze.

The rims look good the way they are.

Black rims are a for any color car. So, any other color than black, IMHO.

DeathMetal, I honestly like the base (stock) silver of the TL rims.
But if you want to paint them I would go black or gunmetal.
I think dark rims on light paint looks cool. Or since you have already
painted other parts white, try WDP.

Also I think I knew where you were going with the gold color.
Props from trying something new.

Y'know buddy, your execution is always stellar but I think that you have waaaay too much going on there. Personally, I'd lose the tails and white tips for a start....and even though you did a great job painting the wheels (especially the centre caps), I would've left them the OEM colour until I could afford new wheels....just IMO.

i think whats happened is you've gone overboard on the white

edit: just realized you havn't done much to the front grille//headlights, which really leaves tons of room to tie these mods together.

pick a color:
tail bezel
exhaust
wheels
headlight bezel
a-spec lower section
crossbar of grille to that color

switch the blacked tail reflectors (they look great, but wouldn't flow well with a darker color bezel, imo) back to clear w/ red turn (or even clear) colormatch the outer grille pieces to WDP

if you can envision the things i've listed, i think it would come out looking amazing, not too much of one thing, and tastefully ties all aspects of the car together, while (somewhat) keeping your current theme

although... it is a whole lot of change

Other - No paint. Just save for Type-S wheels to match the bumper.

The taillights look alright IMO.
However, the exhaust tips, I would stick with chrome.

The wheels, they look OK. But, just my preference, I would do chrome as well.

I think the gold rims look good. But looks like you have a white/black theme going, so perhaps gloss black rims. Like your tails. Good luck.

DM, I applaud you and your mods-you dare to be different! The tips and the tails are cool because they are unique. Even the Aspec nose is modified white!

Now, because you've got the white/black motif going with the tails and roof, my suggestions is keep that theme going with gloss black wheels. That way, you're breaking up the white. I'm not necessarily a fan of black wheels, but I honestly feel that they would look good on your TL while staying with the theme of your car.

Thanks to all those whom have provided their constructive criticism to this thread...it has me considering many options at present, thank-you.

Just a dab of info for some others that have provided their two dinar to this thread - I don't modify with or against the grain, nay, I do it as I see fit, and to that end, fie upon thee should you think otherwise as I personally love the way it looks, particularly since said 'rice' is homegrown. Oh, and the front end is being done this weekend.

That being said, please continue with the comments, I am leaning more towards black w/sparkle right about now...

I think the gold looks good. I like the bottom picture a lot. Not feeling the tails and the exhaust, but with a drop, I think the wheels would look really good.

i like the wheels, but like everyone else has said if you lose the white paint on the tail lights and the tips, i think the car will look a lot better. the other mods that you have look really good though

Black with a gloss finish will flow with the east of your car.

Gunmetal with a satin finish would look also.
