Replacing one tire

Replacing one tire
Hey all,
I have pirelli PZero Nero tires and I ran over a nail on my front driver side tire that is unrepairable due to it being on the shoulder of the tire. My question is can I just replace one tire or should I replace both front tires? The other tire has 12K miles on it. The shop is saying I should be fine just buying the one but I wanna make sure.

It really depends upon how much tread is left on the tire with 12,000 miles. Some people only get 20,000 miles from a set of tires. I would play it safe and replace both tires, that way both tires will have equal amounts of grip and similar behaviour. Best case scenario would be to replace all four, but that's just my opinion.

I just had the samething except in the rear tire. Dealer didn't have a Yoko, going out of town and needed a replacement. Put a Falken on and kept my Yoko in rear (still has good tread). What about switching rear tires for the front and buy one new tire and put in rear? Rear is non-drive and shouldn't have any issues about uneveness. Mine drove fine to Orlando and back 500 miles.

Don't do it! I tried that route once...I only had 4500 miles on the other 3 tires. The car never drove properly afterwards. It tended to pull in one direction no matter if the new tire was on the front or back. I put up with the problem until the 3 other tires wore out, then I replaced all 4. I couldn't wait for them to wear out...it was horrible. Replace 2 tires.
