Rear strut install question

I just installed new struts on my tl. The lower mount in the rear is where I have a question. Should the lower be able to move side to side(if facing rear tire strut has some left to right play)? On one side the lower bushing has no play between the knuckle flanges and on the other side there is play side to side. What is correct?

To simplify my question, should the rear lower strut mount be pinched or have some play? I am thinking it should be pinched

Should be pinched when tight. Did you buy TSX shocks?

Which brand of shock did you buy?

koni str.t(orange)
It looks like the bottom mount is narrower than the oem. Can I use washers to make it work? The rear strut part number is the same for tsx and tl

Yes, you can use washers. I'm surprised the shock is not supplied with them.

I am surprised that I'm the first one who has run into this problem. It looks like on the right side the bolt sucked the bracket into the shock for a pinch fit. On the right side it didn't.
