Question Racing Hart Wheels

In the next few weeks i'm going to purchase a suspension and a set of wheels for my 2006 TL. I really like the racing Hart J8's, A LOT but I am also interested in the R5 after seeing them on one of these threads. I'm 85% sure I want the J8 in a 19x8.5 but I thought I would post the pics of each of them and get some feedback.

I say the R5 since we know what the J8's look like on the TL..It also depends on your setup on a stock looking TL the R5 would look like ass, you need a kit to make that wheel look really good on your car.

Yea I have seen thew Silver TL with the R5's and I believe there is no body kit on the car. I also just did a search for the J8's and I found a Black 2G with Gold J8's.

OK, after all of the contemplating back and forth on those two wheels I am not going with either of them. I have decided to get a set of the racing hart CR's. 19x8.5 all the way around but I will stagger the offset to allow for a larger lip on the rear wheels. The only part that sux is that I am ordering them in gunmetal and it's a special order from japan and it takes 60 days.

Here is a pic...

O.K. those are Racing Harts. The others were RH evolution wheels.

http://www.dazzmotorsports.com/default.asp?flash=1

And, you do know that when you get the CR's you will not have much of a lip on them due to the offset of the rim. It won't even be close to the pic you posted. Just to let you know.

It will take longer than 60 days, I tried ordering those last year when I had my CL and it was on the 4th month and I cancelled my order I got sick of waiting. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

Yes, I know the lip in the picture is very deceiving but I am going to make sure I push the limits of the offset far enough to obtain maximum lips and still not rub. It's going to be difficult but I am determined to make this work! Any offset input would be greatly appreciated. It seems if you want the staggered look the front offset is between +35 and +38 and the rear is about +45.

The car is NON brembo.

For the staggered look, it's the other way around...higher offset in front, lower in rear. A higher offset pushes the wheel face out more; a lower offset gives you a bigger lip. However, keep in mind that with two different offsets, the wheels will not be in line. With a lower offset in the rear, the rear wheels will sit further out than the fronts.

OK, so I ordered a set of Racing Hart CR's in a 19x8.5. www.dazzmotosports.com says they come in Graphite but when I called Dazz Motorsports I was informed the wheels could be ordered in Anthracite to match the car. Wheather they come in Anthracite or in Graphite I am completely cool with either. The wheels are a +38mm offset and I was told a realistic wait for these would be 60-90 days. I know some of you have horror stories about wheels taking 6 months to get so I will keep my fingers crossed.

I also just ordered an Aspec body kit and the H&R rear swaybar. In the next few weeks I will also be ordering a set of Tein ss's.

I am still going back and forth on what exhaust to put on the car. I just want whatever option will create the largest HP gain.

The only mod that is currently done to the car so far is the AEM CAI.

Once I actually get all of this shit put on the car I will start to post pics.

Late,

Twiggy

Can't wait to see pics, it sounds like it will look hot!

By the way, HP gains from an exhaust are minimal on this car...therefore, it doesn't really matter which you get, just how much you want to spend.

I know how you feel...I remember when I was waiting for my wheels...it was horrible! It probably doesn't help, but those RH's color matched to your car will be awesome! As soon as they show up, you'll know the wait was worth it.

I have a set of J8 on order for my RRP 04 TL, it's going to take about 6 to 8 weeks to be shipped to my wheel shop. They have the 19x8.5 in stock but I'm waiting for the 19x10 for the rear. If you are going to do a staggered set up, you can do 19x10 in the rear with a 35 offset.

I just said fuck it and went with a 19x8.5 all the way around with a +38 offset. I was tired of getting so many different answers about offset and if this will fit and if that will rub, yada, yada!

HOUSTON... We have a FUCKING problem. So I ordered the Racing Hart CR's in Gun Metal on May 1st. I get a call from my local shop yesterday and they said that the wheels are NOT AVAILABLE. They are not making the wheels in that color anymore. Now i'm confused because they were available 2 weeks ago.

So I called DAZZ and spoke with one of the managers and he explained to me that the Racing Hart factory in Japan was closed from May 1st - May 9th. Some kind of holiday over there where all businesses close down. The factory in Japan tells him that they are discontinuing the CR. THAT PISSES ME OFF.

The guy at DAZZ was helpful though. He said he wuld give me a discount on Silver ones because of the missunderstanding which is great but now I have to get them painted to color match my Anthracite car. Now I don't know what to do. I'm not sure if I want to order the wheels and find a really good painter or just get differerent wheels! FUCK, i'm pissed and I have to get back to work.

Anyone have any advise?

In my opinion....I think the silver looks best on the car anyway as opposed to a rim that closely matches the car's color. I think that a rim that is close to the color of the car blends in too much. Plus it looks kinda ghetto....lol.....but some people like that.

It's all subjective anyway. But if you really like the Racing Hart CR's, I think they would look great in silver especially on a TL that is Anthracite metallic.

Maybe that's not a bad idea. I could always get the wheels in silver, throw them on the car and if I don't like it I can always have them color matched later on.

I need someones photoshop skills. Racing Hart CR's on an Anthracite TL.

drdamian,

You should check the RonJon wheels site. Their rims are made specifically for Honda/Acura. I'm getting the 18" Inspyre's which I think are a great match design wise for the TL. They have them in 19" as well. I opted for 18" because with the roads where I am I want a little more rubber protecting the rim. The site has many pictures of their rims on a TL.

twig....exactly...even if you wind up having them color matched at a later date, you will have the rims that you really had your eye on in the first place. I hope someone does photoshop and post a pic of those silver CR's on this thread, I would be interested in seeing what it looks like. I think the silver will look awesome on your car.

i looked at the axis's and they are really nice. especially the hiros and i have looked at the ronjons and i am considering them.. but its something about the racing harts, and volks that really do it for me.. although i have seen a set of ronjons painted black that looked awesome.. it suxs bc i waited so long, now no matter what rim i get unless they are used it will take 3 months to get and summer will be almost over.. on my face all day...
