question about our wheels...

hi, rims and tires are new territory to me, so...

What is offset?

Our TLS tires are 17x6.5, can we use rims with different width?
maybe 18x7 or 18x7.5?

With the added width to tires...do we need to 'roll' our fenders??

thanks.

Offset is the distance from the rim's mounting surface to the centerline. Positive offset means the mounting surface is moved towards the outside (away from the center of the car) of the rim. Negative offset is the opposite.
You can use a wider rim as long as the offset is correct. 7" wheel should have a minimum offset of +40. 7.5" wheel a minimum offset of +45.
