Question about my ASPEC Wheels

I have the 05 Aspec rims on my TL. Had them installed by a Sears mechanic. Before he put the Acura symbol cap on the rim I told him doesnt that red plactic piece suppose to come off? He showed it to me and said how. We both were puzzled on how to remove it, but I know that it suppose to come off somehow. Anyone know I didnt want to pull to hard it seemed that I would crack the cap. I called the Acura dealership and they want to charge me $40.00 to remove the wheels off to remove the red plasic piece which is insane

. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

Just had to replace my cap due to some dork ripping mine off (couldn't steal the wheels due to the locks installed). I'm gonna assume you could use a screw driver covered with a piece of cloth to carefully pry the cap from the rim. Once you get the cap off, you'll need to remove the retaining clips holding the symbol to the cap. Once that is done, push the two plastic symbol pieces out (that should pop the A off). Now, slowly peel off the pinkish plastic backing (which preserves the adhesive) off and re-apply to the cleaned cap. Add back the clips and pop the cap back on....
