Most Enkei wheels are manufactured in Japan. The Racing Series in Japan, but the others, National brand, street wheels, are split between Japan and China. They do have other manufacturing facilities around the world, but none in Finland.

Tire purchases so far; shipped price for each set of 4:

Honda CR-V (Thank You TireRack Closeouts)
255/55R-18 PIRELLI SCORPION WINTER XL $422.88 (Dedicated Winter)
235/60R-18 PIRELLI SCORPION ICE & SNOW XL $390.04 (Run as A/S Spring-Fall - Still Undecided)

Acura TL
255/40R-18 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A $346.28

Was looking for an inexpensive set to try out the 255/40 setup before going all in with a $1,000 set of tires. Would have preferred an XL though. Not in a hurry to get out of the Pirelli Cinturato P7 A/S Plus XL I have on the 17" wheels; turned off traction control yesterday in snow and was confident in braking and in the corners above speed...amazing tires.

The Dunlops vary upwards of $400 online and are a Max Performance Summer tire per TireRack:

Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A Tires 265023773 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing
$242.98 - SP Sport Maxx A 255/40R18 tires | Buy SP Sport Maxx A tires at SimpleTire
DUNLOP® 265023773 - SP SPORT MAXX A 255/40R18 Y
Dunlop SP Sport Maxx Tire 255/40R18 95Y: Tires : Walmart.com
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=SP+Sport+Maxx+ A&sidewall=Blackwall&partnum=54YR8SPMAXX&tab=Siz es

Amazing deals on TireRack all last week .

Deal for $346.28 shipped price of the 255/40 setup in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx A:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/322003523871

Mine shipped already, looks like Seller now has 30 individual tires available.

Scratch that, the Dunlops cost me $290.81 shipped .

The Seller has an online store as well, where these tires are cheaper and currently $305.36 shipped (to me), last night they were $290.81:

https://www.tires-easy.com/dunlop-sp...UNL6281825540Y

So even better!!!

Sorry to the individual that bought a set on eBay after I posted last night. But, $346.28 is still a GREAT deal on these and peace of mind purchasing through eBay!

I'll update the DOT manufacturer date when these arrive, seeing a few may be concerned with old stock...not me .

Prices are creeping up lol...better get a set now if you're wanting to inexpensively try out the 255/40 setup with a generally well received tire.

eBay - $90.32 ea. (shipped)
Website - $76.34 ea. (shipped - will vary on your zip)

EDIT - Or, you can special order a set from TireRack for over $1,400 .

I'm sure some of the tire aficionados here won't agree but my Sumitomos are great. Dry, wet, snow and slush has been excellent. I'm sure those Dunlop's will be too!

Now we need a picture thread since there will be done installs soon

I have the Sumi HTR Z3 and LOVE them on my S2000...totally transformed the ride to much safer Made it hard to break traction, even in corners. Love them in all conditions, they ride smoothly, corner well and are great in rain.

Yeah, I am sure you'll see them mounted...footprint doesn't looks super wide. Want a picture with a banana and today's newspaper for size comparison?

Hot damn! I'm convinced this thread brings forth good fortune for those who post in it.

My Dunlops will be here tomorrow!

Shipped form a border state. Not bad for free shipping on tires bought late last night.

Had to go back my local tire shop today and told him I'm bringing 8 wheels / tires soon. They replaced a 17" OEM TL wheel today with the same, and did the dynamic balance with the road force machine. For a handshake. Love these guys!

I had a good experience with the HTRZII and III. It's all in how you use your tires, really. Had I not, by chance, had some fantastic tires in the past, I might still be none the wiser. Having said that, if the tire does the job for you, then the price doesn't matter, high or low.

We can either keep this thread on topic or we can close it. It's up to you- the members- on how this thread proceeds. Several posts have been deleted.

and for the record...IDGAF about a thread about 8 inches! We've all got 8.5" inches, right GGESQ!?!?!

Honestly, man...sale is done long ago, nothing but people tryna sell off and flip for profit or people posting weird vids of tires rolling down a hill.

I say lock this bia!!! That's my vote.

I'm enjoying others come in and post their tires mounted on the wheels they bought. No sense in creating new thread for all of that is there?

This thread merged into folks posting about what they bought (wheels & tires) long ago. Certainly, long before someone posted an enjoyable video about tires rolling downhill...and nothing in this thread even comes close to the bar set in the ramblings thread.

I see no reason to close this thread. Else, you'll have several new threads about tires mounted on wheels, and I don't want to create four threads. The last page of posts mainly consisted of deals on tires, which I wouldn't have shared unless this thread existed.

Hmmm, guess I'm trying to understand.... a photo shoot of a Lotus has nothing to do with this thread, nor does a tire ski jump, yet those posts didn't get deleted....

I guess I am giving you too much credit considering you've been here on AZ longer than me nfn and have probably seen me close hundreds of threads that violate the Black Market Rules so I guess I will have to spell it out.

Someone tried circumventing the Black Market by posting something for sale in this thread. A couple of you commented on it including yourself. I deleted those posts regarding the item for sale and any commentary. Posting pictures of a tire ski jump or a Lotus doesn't violate the Black Market rules. I'm not here to micromanage every single post that is made by the members in every thread; just the ones that I feel need to be moderated

Any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Now, let's see some pics of these things mounted.

You're right. There's also no sense in everyone posting pictures of the same wheels, on the same car with the same body kit on, because you know, that hasn't been done a billion times since 2004.

You know it's 100% true.

Where's the love?

So judging from what the moderator is saying, and the below post. I guess all you have to say is that your contemplating to sell these.

Well guess what, I AM CONTEMPLATING my set of these.

The lack of consistency is appalling
