Well I really liked my General UHP's they were long lasting grippy and quiet. For some reason I just wanted to change things up and I just went with the Hankook Ventus V12's and so far they have been really great. i only have 500 miles on them but they have been smooth quiet and grippy too! See if they last as long as the Generals? cannot beat the price.

You need to list what you're looking for in the tire and what conditions (rain, ice, dry, etc) they will be run in.
I've run BFG G-force KDW-2, BFG-G-force Sports, and the Nitto NT05 on the TL along with a ton of R compound race tires for comparison purposes.
Between those 3, the Nitto wins in nearly every category.... All out dry traction, wet traction, noise (by a long shot), ride comfort, turn-in response. The KDW-2 was amazing in standing puddles. The Nitto doesn't like deep water but if it's just a little water or just wet, grip is very good. None of these like super cold conditions.
For all out dry performance, the only real contenders are the Direzza Star Specs and the Nitto NT05. I believe the Star Specs will do better in the standing water, they're both very close in all out dry performance, and the NT05 is MUCH quieter. In fact, mine are just as quiet as the factory tires which is unbelievable for a tire with this kind of performance.

Three Wheelin'
I ran the KDW's before and they did pretty well. Haven't run the NT05 like I hate cars but the tread life on those isn't that great which throws me away from using them on the daily (thought about using them as a track tire a few times if I find another set of wheels). The KDW's lasted me quite a while driving spiritedly (is that even a word?) on back roads and daily driving. Now I run Nexen 3000's. They aren't as great as the kdw but surprisingly they actually work pretty well for a bargain tire.
