Is it possible to lower my car with out rubbing?

I just bought a 2005 TL with 20's. The Tires rub when the car is full of people. I really want to lower the car. Is it possible to lower it and not sacerfice ride quality and rubing?

i think you should look into cutting out the inside corner of the rear skirt near the wheel well.

I am not trying to be a jerk, but I think that the 20's are the problem. In doing my homework, it is said that you should not go over an 19" rim. In my opinion, to big of a rim on many cars, and too thin of a tire just takes away from the look of the car! Just my opinion though!
