People with Koni SP3s/Neuspeed struts

For those that have the Koni SP3's aka Neuspeed struts, what perch are you sitting on and what does your gap look like? Do you have a camber kit? If no, should you have one? If you could post a picture, that would be great too.

I'm getting these installed on my car with Eibach springs this week. I bought them used for 260HP and right now, the little ring is on perch 3:

Please use the following perch numbering scheme when responding:
5
4
3
2
1

I'm on lowest perch (1). I have almost no wheel gap (about maybe....an eighth of an inch gap) or so. No camber kit, my front tires are getting worn, but my rear is holding off pretty well for now. I should get one soon. Pictures will come later as I'm posting this during school.

Neuspeed Accord Springs btw.

OK I guess not a lot of people have these...?

How do you remove the ring on the perches? Just slide them off?

They all came set on the 3rd perch... based on what his PM said, it looks like he moved them prior to shipping. I'll confirm with him

there is a little opening on the perches. they act kinda like springs clamping onto the strut. I just pulled it back a little and slipped them down.

And no, i haven't got an alignment yet. I've been wanting to but job/hw get's in the way.

I'll keep you updated.

^ Hot ride! Exactly what I've been looking for.

So thats a little too low for winter I think. I'm thinking:
Front perch 2
Rear perch 3

I notice you have a little rear sag, even though your rears are at a higher perch... is that common? Or do you just have a massive system?

I'm pretty sure Rodney has junk in the trunk.

Rodney - did you just get new wheels, or did I just miss the thread when you got them?

Yeah... Alot of Junk in the Trunk... ... but the way the car is designed... the wheel well arches/radius are cut differently... the rear radius is smaller than the front... so it gives the illussion of the rear sagging... but I'm actually even cause of the JUNK... LOL

Chill_dog
Naw... I got those wheels in November '07... but they sat through the winter and installed in April '08... I don't typically start new threads on my stuff... they usually get leaked out by other members... ... so no... they are't new... but they are for SALE...

It's going to depend on what springs you have. I have the perches set at 3 in the back and two in the front and I'm pretty low with the neuspeeds on there. I hope to move to something else next summer. I pretty much have no gap in the front and about 1 finger in the back.

Here's a couples pics

Hey Jason. The shocks have the perches at their stock location. Meaning the shocks are delivered new with the perches at that location, which are the middle (3). They pretty much match the stock shocks.

Keep in mind, my car was 6MT so its front end is lighter by quite a bit. When I was running Prokits, I lowered the front spring seats to the bottom (1) to eliminate the sagging look. Well, I didn't have other options back then because I paired them with the regular Koni Sport.

Later I changed to H&R Sport and Koni SP3. I lowered the front spring seats to the #2. The car looks almost identical compared to my old Eibach/Koni Sport setup.

Like I said in the PM, it's easiest if you just measure your car's current height. Measure the distance from the highest point of the fender to the hub's center. Do it on all 4 corners. Then, you can tailor it to whatever you want. If you want to lower the front end another 1/4", lower the spring seats to the next lower point (2). Each spring seat position will change the ride height approx 1/4".

I assume the bump stops are not cut. If they are, your car may sit lower than what Eibach specifies.

^ So let me clarify real quick...

OEM struts + Eibachs = Koni SP3s (3rd perch) + Eibachs?

Thanks for posting the pictures anyway! So to be clear, you are on perch 1 front and rear?

That explains it...if someone else posted pics, I probably didn't see them. Work blocks almost all pics these days . They look good. What are you getting to replace them with?

I haven't decided... plus I'm doing some work to the car that might affect wheel fitment, so I'm holding off on placing an order from Japan...

OK so I got these installed... F perch 2 R perch 2.

Front

Rear

Gap looks good, IMO.

Anyway, whats the best way to go about adjusting the dampening? Adjust to stiffest and go from there? What rotation direction makes them stiffer?
