Parts necessary to complete the Tein SS? HeelToe!!

I ordered the Tein SS coilovers several months ago from HeelToe and finally last week decided to order the top hat kit from HeelToe so I could do the install this weekend without taking apart my stocks. Got the kit but looking at the OEM diagram It doesn't look like I have all the parts necessary.

Basically I received whats circled in red x 4. Looks like i'm missing the collars and the top washers & maybe the dust cover cause the Teins dont have one thats for sure.

Also the part # on all the bushings are crossed out so I scanned the barcodes and it comes up as 51631-SL0-901 which look to be originally for the NSX maybe? might be an equal sub its just weird they would cross out the part #

Y0u have the right parts. We answered your email just now as well. The collars are not normally installed parts with type-s bushings and the type-s bushings (identical to the NSX and S2000 and Integra Type-R ones) replace the upper an lower washers normally included with your kit.

We've shipped tons of these kits all the same way. Trust me, we know how to correctly supply these parts.

THanks Heeltoe, but there were not washers included with my Tein kit that I can see I just opened it yesterday. Do you have any picture showing what they should look like? Does the top bolt screw down directly on the rubber bushing? Doesn't seem right plus I see the top washers in the picture on your website for the type s top hat kit.

Roger that picture is of a base kit. We used the same picture for both kits.

You install with the metal bushings in the top hats, flat sides OUT. You put the bump stop plate on the shock, then the top hat, then the nut on top of the top bushing. That is how it goes together

I'm putting the rears in right now using parts supplied; the top hats, type s bushings and bump stop plate. The rears have quite a bit of extra thread sticking out at the top. I've lowered before (other cars) and never seen this much extra thread which again makes be worried i'm missing something. Am I good to go, or is something not quite right? Also I tightened the top bolt just snug before tightened the coils then more after dropped with the weight of the car.

The front looks ok not too much extra but the rears are pretty significant

I just installed mine two weeks ago. I used my original top hats. On the rears, I installed two washers, then the top hat, another washer, and then the nut. I had almost that much thread in the rear, I think because I used two washers on the bottom and one above the top hats. I don't know if there's a thickness difference between the type S and the regular top hats.
My fronts look about the same, but I used a washer under the nut. I'd say you're OK, just as long as the bushing can handle the nut by its self.

Cool thanks for the reply, The type S bushing are 1/2 metal 1/2 rubber and the nut is on metal side so that seems fine to me its just all the extra thread that seemed off to me but I guess its normal.

Unless you forgot to put in a bushing, or the bump stop plate in the rear, it is pretty normal to have extra threads sticking out as compared to oem. I would expect the fronts and rears to have about the same threads sticking out. If you have more in the rear something might have been missing, or if there were less in the front maybe you put something extra there.

The front and rear go in exactly the same. Bump stop plate (thick washer with tapered inner bore facing down), the top hat with bushings installed, and then the nut on the top. You may or may not have gotten some black washers, those go on top of the bump stop plates. If you don't have them then don't worry about them.

Both were installed the same with just the parts you sent pictured above, there were no black washers. There is quite a bit more thread in the back though. How tight do you recommend tightening the top bolt? For the stock setup it says 22 lb do you stick to this same measurement on the Tein?

Thye torque makes no difference. As long as the nuts snugged up sufficiently they will never reveal more threads.

You should be fine if all the parts of the hats were assembled correctly, which if you say they are.
