^ where are you guys getting these colors at? like Murph's custom color? looks Amazing; is that just Body Paint? I didn't realize it would work with brakes (high heat)..? or do you guys use a different paint/Clear?

hey thanks man; yea i already saw that link for automotivetouchups; basically what im implying is that those are Body Paints meant for exterior panels. Not brakes? So what im asking is; did you guys take any special procedures;or does that paint hold up well regardless(heatwise)? Maybe a different clear coat? Certain prep steps, I'd like to do this in the near future; and definitely looking for a nice color..

I used high temp silver and a high temp clear on mine...duplicolor. Napa had it for like 5 bucks per can.

Jay, I feel ya man...would be great to be able to paint and not have to mask the disk...masking the disk took at least 3 times longer than it would have been to just unbolt the caliper from the rotor assembly.

Nothing fancy, just a bigger pic from the avatar pic that shows the silver behind aspecs in case anyone was wondering. I love the silver, I don't regret it one bit.

I don't like black on a TL at all but you are tempting my butt to buy a black one! OMG LOOKS SO HOT with that setup.

WHAT!!!... Don't like BLACK!? Are you even HUMAN! Do you even have a HEART that flows with blood!?... "REAL MEN DRIVE BLACK TL's" ... It was written

Example:

Now that a "LESSON" was taught and HOPEFULLY... Learned! Just DON'T let it happen again! Now GO and buy that black TL you were tempted on buying and make us proud!

Lets get back to BRAKES!

LOL! LMAO!

That is really hot lol

I just didn't like it as much as the silver/dark gray or white because you didn't notice the nice lines of the car much compared to those but the black is growing on me lol..

Pad pins? Not sure what u mean by PAD PINS...But the pads fall out, even with the spring loaded tabs once you remove the 2 bolts holding on to the caliper and slide it away from the rotor. Then you can remove by hand the shims guide plates the pads ride on the caliper. So, did u mean the shims or guide plates? Either way, once disassembled all can be torn down in pcs by hand.

OK...after painting my calipers RED approx month ago... I wish I would have gone a different route. Not because I am unhappy with the finish product or style... I just want a custom color now. But I would 1st like to upgrade to the TLS BREBO's up front. Any idea what tha conv. set u back at? :/ And anyone know where I am able to get "CUSTOM COLORS"... Such as a aqua/tiel blue... Ex. would be, if you guys are finiliar with that JDM race company called ProjectU. They always painted their cars according to a certain paint theme of aqua ~ tiel and white...But that aqua/tiel color is NICE! ... U know something like that. Thanks!

hey jayvee,
if you want to have oem brake calipers with the acura decal on them, look into the RL calipers.
you just need to get the bracket made to make them fir on the TL, look for paul, i think his name is nva-av6 but i may be wrong. you can also find him on another forum .... v 6 performance

boy...Let me tell u... I honestly feel that was THE WORST buy of this entire build. Completely impulse buy! I wish I didn't. YES! Swwosh offeres the entire front BBK conv. plug and play $800.00 shipped to my door. I just couldn't do it and spend majority of my tax return. BUT! if I didn't buy that daym system, I would have bought it in a second! ...and still would. But I am 80% in with no time to install or fk with this system. I am actually considering shortening up with a enclosure again just to thro the biatch in there and be done! There is just so much work to be done that is time consuming and detailed work to cover with the original IB design. My equipment is actually sitting in storage to make room around the house...That is how sad I am

^^^I know it bud, sometimes the best thing, is to step away from the project. When you have the time, money and patience to dedicate, you'll be happy you bought it.

BBK is not a good buy for our day to day practical application on this car IMO...I'm lucky I had the brembo's...if I hadn't, i woulda left it alone.

So u back to stock hood? Was it a vis hood? How was the fitment I had an idea of doing the cf hood with custom vents and painting most of it my cbp color but leaving some accents of the cf showing through.

Yes, stock NBP hood back on. Fitment was great. CF may look awesome on your whip...Mine? Not so much once I took a step back and saw the BIG picture.

I have...for today...LOL!

...No for real, The car is really really looking great! At this point the ONLY thing I would be open to change is the wheels...and even then, NO RUSH cuz they look sweet.

I always wondered why ppl always made a big HooRahh about not having ASPEC side skirts..."Get em and it will seal the deal! Ewww U need ASPEC SS...Man, if u had side skirts it woiuld be spot on"....yada yada yada. Well! Let me be the 1st to say...WTF was I waiting for? It did really wrap up the body lines and design I was looking for. WOW! what a lil flare make a HUGE difference...and I am not going even start about the rear bumper lip...anyways...That all can be found on the progress/build thread... Thanks
