Opinions on Wheels

Looking at changing my wheels early next year and these are the two fitments I'm looking at:

TSW Tanaka
18x8.5 ET 32 (front) w/ 235/40/18 (my current tires)
18x9.5 ET 40 (rear) w/ 235/40/18

TSW Mirabeau
18x9.0 ET 30 (all 4) w/ 235/40/18

Tires are Mich Pilot SS

I'm looking at both in matte black, they're a few of TSW's new wheels for 2013. I'm leaning towards the Tanaka's since they're rotary forged wheels. Both setups would give me a pretty flush fitment, with more poke on the Mirabeaus. The Mirabeau is a 2-piece wheel.

Car is WDP TL so I think the matte black will look good on it, I was considering the gloss black Mirabeau wheel as well.

What do you guys think? I also realize my 235 tires will be stretched on these.

My rear fenders are rolled .. and I removed the fender tab on the front so not really worried about that.

Those both look really nice but I'm a sucker for 5 spokes.

The one on the right

Btw, you'll be fine with 235 tires, I have them on my 9" wheels, the rim pokes ever so slightly past the tire but there's no real "stretch" look to it.

And I haven't rolled or done any fender work. 18x9 +30 on 235/40/18. Dropped more than 2" and I haven't rubbed on anything.

Are you running any negative camber up front?

My fronts are currently dead on at 0 camber from my last alignment and I was pretty close to the fender with 18x8 +30 with my 235/40/18 tires. I have adjustable upper ball-joints though so getting the front re-aligned wouldn't be a problem just seemed like with 18x9 +30 and my tires I'd definitely have to run some negative camber up front. It brings it another 12.7mm or 1/2" closer to the fender. I measured it the other day and with the current setup it was just under 1/2" from the fender.

I like them as well, I'm still a little split though.

The Tanaka's I can get in a good staggered fitment that will be pretty flush without spacers. They're also rotary forged making them a lighter & stronger wheel.

The Mirabeau's would be even more flush though and not staggered (staggering on FWD is a little pointless though other than for the looks).

Mirabeau gets my vote. Use spacers if you need more "flush".

I decided to go with the Mirabeau's here's some pics with them on.

Specs:

18x9 +30 all of the way around

Wrapped in Mich Pilot SS tires, 235/40/18

Camber is at

Fronts: 0
Rears: -1.2

Rears are rolled and the fender tab / wheel well liner is trimmed in front.

They came with shiny aluminum center caps, so I wrapped them in 3M's Di-Noc CF, the gloss one. Pretty good color match for the wheels.

Also painted my calipers with G2 Red epoxy paint.
