Opinions on Nexen N3000
It's time to replace the tires on my 2007 Type S and am considering the N3000 as a low cost option ($650 installed). My last set of tires were the General Exclaim UHP which I was super happy with. We get a lot of rain here in the NW and the Exclaims are great in the rain. I got 28k miles out of them which I am told is good.
So does anyone have some firsthand experience with the Nexen N3000? The size I am looking at is 245-35/19. How are they in the wet? In the dry? Are they noisy? How many miles should I expect to get out of them? We occassionally get some light snow here - how are they in light snow, say 1"?
The other option is the replacement for the Exclaim, the General G-Max. I have read a lot of good reviews on this tire and if they are like the Exclaim, I should be very happy with them. They are $800 installed so about $150 more than the Nexen.
Thanks in advance for any feedback on the Nexen.

As the N3000 is a summer only tire that can't, or shouldn't be driven when the temps drop to the mid 30's, I'd look into an all season tire. Also, the 340 wear rating, although decent for a summer tire, it’s far from the best when it comes to all season. The rating is not an industry standard, but one can surmise that a 300 in one brand is not comparable to 500 in another and will certainly see a shorter life.

I had a pair of N3000's several years ago, and they were 'acceptable', but very poor in most every category.
I don't think I ever rode on them in the snow, but I usually used summer tires in the winter, and we can get quite a bit of snow here.
If you're used to cheap tires they might be OK. I went from them to Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's and the difference was quite large in both traction and comfort. I never got more than 5-10K out of a set of tires, so I can't speak on treadlife.

I've had N3000's on my rear right now for about a year and they still have a good amount of tread. I must be used to "cheap tires" though because I think they're good haha. Never driven through the snow though considering I live in Socal and we don't get any... Oh and I have 20's and they still ride really smooth and have good tread IMO. But then again I don't really know any different.
