Opinion on this?

Is this worth getting? Difficulties installing? should I even bother?

I think thats a great idea. Much easier the sanding, priming, painting. I especially Like the rear covers because the 07-08 Type-S doesnt have Brembo's like my 10 Camaro SS did.

Thanks for putting this Tread up.

I wont get the carbod fiber though, some other color

it does not add horsepower to the car.. why in the world someone said that I have no idea

it however may help brake in a shorter length.. save maybe 10 feet of braking distance

also it looks areodynamic so it should help cool the brakes down as well

as for the question of how difficult it would be to install, it depends on if you have to take the calipers off to install.. it wont be difficult but will take more time

as for value of purchase, I beleive someone bought a rear set to match their front BBK, I do not know what reviews they did some unsure of factual data of good or bad, they do look nice so that at least is a reason for purchase

maybe because the TL doesnt need a 4 pot rear caliper.

THEY ARE COVERS.

does not do anything.

It also says on the ebay page how to install....and I quote....
SIMPLY GLUE them on over your existing calipers.

^i know it's a stupid thing.

BUTT for people who do have brembo brakes equipped up front, a rear cover set would compliment the front nicely. especially painted the same color/same decal.

the rear brakes are so tiny and crappy looking, dressing them up a bit isn't a bad idea. purely asthetic purposes.

purely aesthetic, sure why not dress up the rears. as long as you're not touting that you have brembos on all 4 corners!

it would look sexy behind your F14s

^yeah i may just buy a set of the rears for $30-$40 and sand them, prime them, paint them white (like my fronts) and slap them on. if i don't like it, take them off.

^i'm not sure if you're serious or trolling.

but to clear it up, the OP posted a link to Brembo COVERS, which dont do anything.
they are just for aesthetic reasons.

and are glued on.

Why? The rears seriously need some sort of aesthetic appearance, they're bare and weak looking and with F14's it will look great. It annoys me too that the Type-S has big Brembro front brakes and the rears are tiny. And I don't even have a Type-S lol.

As for the OP, don't get the CF finish.

Making your calipers look good and faking that they are something they aren't are completely different.

If you put brembo covers over brembo brakes I would probably be cool with that.

And I agree. How much more would it have cost to put some nice 2 pots in the rear? I can't stand going to meets and looking at all of the STIs, Gs, etc that have both front and rear brembos...

STI's are more performance oriented but agreed also, they should have put matching Brembros all the way around, for both performance and looks.

nope not kidding. i'm not trying to fake anything. i'm just trying to dress up the rear so that it's not so plain and tiny looking.

that's where i'm at. i honeslty don't think it'll look bad after i'm done with them. it'll help even out the contrast on the car too.

i think i shall order a set tomorrow and repaint to match the fronts.

So would you buy covers and put the Acura logo on them? Lol

I think it would look good too. Especially if you match your fronts. I just don't know about fake covers. To me that'd be like buying cheap Nexen tires and putting black Pirelli stickers on the sidewalls.

Agreed though, in for pics!

i see what you're saying, and agree.

i don't think i'm gonna put any logo on them, just repaint them lexus starfire pearl to match the fronts. i might put a CF brembo logo on them...i don't know.

i'm trying to get the idea and the terminology "fake covers" out of my head. to me, i'm just putting covers on the rear calipers bc they are teeny tiny and look like crap.

Would it be tacky to buy those covers and then replace "Brembro" with the "Acura" logo? I hate my base calipers.

some people won't like it, some people will talk shit, in the end...it doesn't matter. it's your car, do whatever you want to it.

LOL

I'm not trying to hate. I guess if you rock plain non logo-ed ones it'd be alright. Then they'd be covers. But put an Acura logo, or Brembo logo on them and you are "false advertising".

You're car is nice and you've made great choices. Continue on your path. But I bet if it was anyone else that doesn't have quite the level or regard or respect you do, people would be flaming the hell out of the covers. Lol

I'm not false advertising Acura though...that's why I suggested those instead of leaving them saying Brembro when I don't have Brembros.
