offset questions

hey guys, if u get XXmm offset wheels and u mount the same offset on an auto and 6mt, is the fit exactly the same in terms of how flush they are with the fender?

also, if u have XXmm offset, does it make a difference how flush they are with the fender if the wheels are 8" or 8.5", will they fit the same? tia.

The offset has a direct coorelation to the width of the tire. My Privat Netz with the 30mm offset is an 8-inch wide wheel and line up pretty good with the wheel well but an 8.5-inch wheel would "stick out" of the wheel well and give the car that (cheapo) "froggy" look you see on so many of the Civic's and small cars who's drivers can't afford the proper fitment. The TL is a class act and deserves the right fitment. As far as MT or AT, the wheels are EXACTLY the same distance so there is no difference there. The only difference is that the MT's have the brembo's which means that a XXmm offset may work on an AT but not on a MT. The Privat Netz at a +30mm are the smallest offset (I have seen) anyone go with and still clear the Brembos. If you get a 8.5-inch wide rim you will probably need at least a 35mm offset but 38mm would be better. The Ruff 281's are pretty intersting, inexpensive wheels (around $1,000/set) that I don't think anyone on here has put on a TL yet and they are 8.5's and a 38mm offset (I think). Good luck
