OEM Bridgestone Turanza tires

Mine were gone at 22000 miles. Losts of noise with plenty of rubber left. Called Acura and they said to have the dealer look at it. Dealer looked at it and said that was normal. I refuse to believe that this is normal and Acura is not willing to admit that they put a shitty set of tires on the car. This is my last Acura. I am going back to BMW.

I just bought my car about a week and a half ago. Every TL I looked at had the Bridgestone Turanza tires on it. When the dealer showed my MY car it had the Michelins on it. I questioned why not the Bridgestone Turanza tires and he stated that they sometimes come with either. I was annoyed until I checked out the rtatings and saw the Michelins were rated better.

That's funny. I was just reading the roadfly board on the 3 series, and a guy was saying "this is my last BMW, I'm going back to Honda!"

It's possible to put a better set of tires on the car, and the problem will be over with. If you got 22,000 miles out of the set instead, of, say, 40,000, and replacement tires are $150 each, that means Acura "cheated" you out of about $300. I'm not sure that's worth abandoning a manufacturer over. It is true that the treadwear rating on the original Bridgestone EL42 tires isn't that great, and those tires did have their share of flatspotting and other problems. Acura could have made a better choice of tires.

It's my understanding that Acura puts the Bridgestone Turanzas on non-navigation cars and the Michelins on TLs with navigation.

My point is that these tires suck and Acura was not willing to do anything about it. I have owned 3 M3's and have never had a problem with BMW. Lesson learned.

That may be the case now but my '04/Navi came with Bridgestone Turanzas. I quickly replaced them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S's.

Yeah, I forgot to mention for the '05 models. I wonder what Acura will put on the TLs for the '06s.

yea that's true, acura should have chosen a better tire and should have faced the reprecussions of putting on the crappy ones. how bad are they really? we got an 05 model with the michelins and they are pretty awesome, they barely chirp if u floor it, even with vsa off. if its a safety issue you try and complain to acura's customer service line

FWIW, Bridgstone EL-42's are OEM tires on BMW 7 series.

I guarantee you that BMW would stand behind their cars. BTW....the EL-42's formulation was changed sometime in the last model year (so I hear).
