Noob question

Before people get angry and start throwing tomatoes I have a quick question:

I have 2 snow tires from my previous car 205/50/17 I believe (or 205/45/17 I can't recall this second) and I was wondering if I can fit those tires into the OEM 17" TL rims?
I just want to know if I can so I don't have to go and buy a new set and only 2 instead.

Thanks

The thing is if you go to a "Tire guy" he is going to want to sell you a complete set of 45's stating that the 50's are not OEM and your insurance company will not pay for damage to your car if you get into an accident. See I have a Type-S and have been though it with them and my insurance company agrees with him if I put snow tires on they have to be as good or better than stock which in turn means I have to get Z rated snow tires. For me I have been thinking about buying new rims anyway so I will put the snow tires on my stock rims and use the new ones for the summer. Of course me telling you this does not answer your question. Basically it boils down to if you have the money do you really want to take the chance that something happens to you or your family instead of spending the extra money. I could understand if you do not have the budget but that's almost one night out on the town for me. Now if you don't have the money I would buy the new ones in the correct size and mount them on the front and use the 50's in the back. The front takes the brunt of the rolling force that could pop the bead between your rim and tire where the back tires shouldn't get very much force on the bead. I hope this helps.
