NEW WHEELS!! - New-ish member - NEED HELP!! Tell me what u think
Fellow Azine members, I NEED help. Just got some wheels. TSW 19" nurburgring. Wanna do some suspension work. Car sits and rides higher now and body roll is more evident. Everyday driver, at least 60 miles per day. Live in NY, horrible local street conditions. Thinking about lowering and tightening up with some stabilizer bars but don't wanna make the ride any ruffer than it already is with the wheels, stock suspension and the road conditions. What combination would give me the right look with the right comfortable ride?????? I notice the TEIN SS's is a hot pick for most members but will it work on these streets.
HELP!!!

honestly no matter what you do, when you lower your car on ANY suspension set up...you will have a rougher ride. you can help combat this by going with a coilover setup that has adjustable dampening. TEIN SS would be one of them, but there are plenty out there. it gives you the ability to adjust how soft/firm you want your ride to be with the click of a dial.
what size tires do you have?

keep in mind with those 245/35 series tires...you may have a hard time lowering it as much as you want to. are you just trying to eliminate wheel gap or do you want to tuck tires?
it's all just a guessing game until you find out what works for you. new suspension, and possibly camber kits are in your future.

Here's a coilover thread you should read through:

Good luck!

I had 245/35/19" S-Drive summer tires and wheels with a +35 offset. I also lowered my car with Tein SS coilover about -1.7" F&R with NO rubbing. I also played with the damping (Firmness) of the coilovers and LOVED how AWESOME it handled and rode.
A BILLION times better then the Eibach Pro springs
It all depends on you wheel offset.
To be safe, maybe you should get 235/35/19" tires
Hope this helps.
Tein Advance can be bought from Heeltoe for $865 shipped. They are the New and Improved Tein SS.

With that offset, you should be able to go pretty low before running into any rubbing issues. Even if you do, just have the fenders rolled and you'll be good to go. Tein SS ride well, but there are better options out there IMO. My main gripe against the Teins is that they don't come with top hats, so additional assembly is required.

Will I need camber kits regardless of whether or mot i get the coil overs? I noticed the rear wheels looking slightly cambered-ish already and wonder/worry about how that's gonna affect tire wear. To b honest I'm not even sure if it was like that before with the stocks. I definitely wanna do sway bars first on this leg of the project but wanna kno if maybe camber kit is also essential. HELP!'!!!!
So progressive 4 the rear is the best pick.?? What's best 4 the front.???

Thanks for the advice fellas. I love this car so much that i'm gonna have it 4eva and give it to my son one day. So i kno i'm gonna wanna make the best bang 4 buck choice on all mods. Gonna go with the Progress Rears 4 sure.
But I can't deny that i love the look of that RV6-p strut bar. Is it something i can swap out b4 I do the coil overs?? And is it better than the stock??
Also would the H&R front sway bar be better than the stock, or just about the same??

you can change the strut bar at the same time you install the coilovers because the strut bar will have to come off anyways.
found this quote in a rv6 strutbar thread:
Trying to rephrase others who have explained it better... but a stiffer front bar will counteract the stiffer rear and can INDUCE more understeer (that you're trying to get rid of in the first place by adding a stiffer RSB)
