New wheels installed -- 20x8.5 and 20x10
I know most folks on here say run an 18" or 19", but to me for my personal taste, I think a 20" wheel looks great. So, I debated a million different times on sizes, offsets, tires, blah blah. I ended up doing a 20x8.5 on the front and 20x10 on the rear. Offset is 35 on each.
The front tires are a 235/30/20 and the rears are a 255/30/20. I don't know anything about proper photography so I suck as showing how nice it turned out and how well it sits, but hopefully I'll get some time to have some real pics done soon. In the meantime, here are a few that I took:
Here is a before pic for reference with the setup the car had when I bought it:
I still have a lot of little stuff left to do to it (remove the orange from headlights, smoked side markers, etc) but it's coming along nicely.

Wow, usually 20s look huge on the TL, but yours pulls them off VERY nicely
It's cool to see the RJ kit every now and then as well.

Without that, I think sometimes the 20" wheels on a base model TL end up looking like one of those Caprice's with 26's or whatever and this tiny little brake spinning inside there lol.

Thanks! I'm happy with it.
It came that way, but I may make some kind of change there as I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I mean, there are little slits of it on the side skirts and in the rear bumper cover that kind of tie it all together, but they are tiny and don't grab your eye as much. I may black that part out on the front or something so it just looks more simple. Like I said though, still making changes.
Thanks!
Lol I quit caring too much about riding like a cadillac at the point of being supercharged, having louder exhaust, lowering it (which makes the axles shake at 25mph on these cars), etc etc. I just go for a balance of it being reasonable in all areas, and so far I can't really tell a difference between this and how it drove/rode when lowered and all the same but with 19's and a taller tire. Anyways, to each his own.
Thank you.

Being the pattern on the mesh, I think if you paint it black it will just look like there is a "whole" their. I would go with a different type of mesh and maybe paint it a dark grey along with grill to match.

I mean, they are, but it's a 255 tire. The 30 is just meaning 30% of the width, so it's actually more sidewall than the guys running 35 series sidewalls on these 215's (even on a proper wheel) and the 225's that you guys put the real stretch on. So, it's not as bad as it seems.
I run a 25 series on my Lambo with a 20" wheel and haven't had any problems with it seeming crazy harsh as compared to slightly more sidewall. I think at that point, it almost becomes a negligible difference. That's a 325 tire though, so it's 25% of a much larger number making more sidewall. People tend to relate that 2nd number to a certain sidewall height, but it's a percent. So, on a wider tire, it's obviously more sidewall.
Thank you sir!

Don't black out the lower grilles, it makes the kit barely noticeable without any contrast. See here:
I suggest doing the grille trim and the mesh in the same color fo the wheels to "tone it down" and to give it a unified theme between all your mods. Cleared headlights would be the icing on the cake...

Impressive wheels! You should post a side profile pic so we can get a better look at them.

I've been debating going 20's for a while now... I think you pushed me closer to them. Ive been eyeing the new INSPYRES that are available in 20's but its a hefty price tag even with the sale right now.... so debating.
THe RJ kit makes wheels appear smaller hence the 20's look perfect!

I am very impressed with how those 20's look! I agree with color matching the wheels and grill inserts. Now send those headlights to JnC so he can clear them out for you

I got 20's on my car but with fewer mods and boy does it make a difference. I'll have to PM you some questions to help mine get a better look and see what you did in greater detail. Car looks awesome!
