New Tires and Wheel Alignment
Hey everyone, I hope you are well. I am new to the forum and this will be my very first post here in Acurazine. Before I registered, I've always frequented the forums by searching what I need and tagging acurazine at the end of my query. I purchased a used 2004 3G Acura TL last year and just recently purchased new Michelin A/S 3+ tires with a wheel alignment. Being the total newbie that I am when ETD Discount Shop in Lyndhurst showed me my alignment specs there were a lot that were in the red. However, after doing the alignment one area quickly caught my attention. The rear toe of my wheel was still red and it when further negatively than before. I asked them about this and gave me an explanation where the conclusion was that purchasing a camber kit isn't totally necessary. However, I am a perfectionist and wasn't satisfied with seeing it all green. Driving it afterwards felt like a new car all over again though. I wanted to know your thoughts on this and how severe this issue is and if it will give me problems down the line and why did it the alignment make it worse. My car is stock all the way.
Thanks.

?? no idea why they related your toe out to a camber kit.
Is he saying that if he toes it in to spec, the camber comes out of spec?
That's possibly true. But...why would he choose to put camber in spec and leave toe out of spec? That is a bad decision on his part.
Toe takes priority. Ask them to set the toe properly. See where that puts you for camber.
I would opt for slightly POSITIVE toe if possible. Like +.05ish to +0.08ish.

You need to find a new shop that can zero out toe without trying to upsell a camber kit

INCOMPETENT alignment dude in a shop. I trust the laser alignment machine, but not the people.
You need to find a new place for alignment. I personally go to only 2 shops for alignment. My local Honda dealer and a speed shop where all the techs drive dumped Civics. I once dealt with a local NTB that did nothing but messing up the alignment. Find yourself a new shop.

Yikes, that's not a very good alignment, as others have stated. I'd take it somewhere else and have them re-do it or better yet, complain to the shop and have them fix it. I would go back and ask them why the toe on the left rear wheel is so bad and see what their answer is.
I had an alignment done yesterday and my toe is off by .01 deg between all 4 wheels. Ideally it should be 0 on all 4's, but .01 deg is honestly negligible.
Potentially there is a part in the rear left suspension that may need replacing if the toe isn't able to be dialed in correctly.
