New Kumho Ecsta ASX installed.

At 20K miles the horrible stock EL 42 had very little tread left, definitely scary in the rain so had to look for new ones. I decided to make comfort, wet traction and low noise a priority. Never having done this before, decided to buy from the Tire Rack after consulting several of their sales people. They were out of my first choice, Avons 550 A/S. So picked the Kumhos based on the price, research and feedback. I picked an installer in my area and received a call 4 days later they had arrived. Mounting and balance was done on top of the line Hunter GSP [7900?} and took 1i/2 hrs. Will have an alignment done soon since the stock front one had a slight toe issue, resulting in a very worn shoulder. Always felt that the ride with stock tires was somewhat harsh. So far so good, have not put enough miles on the ASX to give an accurate comparison but fell the ride is better, noise lower and handling good. The whole buying on line experience was painless. Kumho has a 420 AA/A rating and is one of the few tires left in the Ultra performance All Season category giving a 30K mile wear guarantee. So hope this report was helpful to you all. Regards!!

Mark,
Stayed with the 235's. Actually Tire Rack wanted to have me take the Avons in 245, guaranteed no rubbing issues but I decided to go with the Kumhos. Today had an alignment done and found that the rear was way out of spec. Never hit anything so must have come off the line like this!
