New compliance bushings = new car feel
I had my splitting compliance bushings replaced the other day on my 06. And WOW, feels like a new car.
Vibration while excelerating, gone.
Pull to the right on banked roads, gone.
Steering much tighter.
Suspension seems quieter over harsh bumps in road.
I love my car again!

Ok,
Ive been complaining (since I bought the CPO TL 4 months ago)to my service tech. that the engine seemed rough when going about 60 mph and "toe-ing" in on the accelerator (giving it some gas but not enough to make it downshift). Also the car seemed to follow the crown in the road esp. to the right side.(so much so that when you let go of the steering wheel, it would turn immediatly to the right and go off of the road.). I had an allignment done and it did not fix it. I had the service Mgr drive my car, he said it seemed normal. So, I begrudgingly accepting this.
After reading on this forum about the compliance bushings, I decided to jack my car up and check them out and what do you know, my bushings were completely split (47,000 mi) I had an appointment for my car any way to have something else fixed, so I said that the bushings looked torn, can you check them out. So, they replaced them, Ive only driven it twice since they replaced them but it seems all of my complaints have been addressed with this. I never really complained about bumps being excessively harsh but, realized after the bushing replacement, that the suspension seemed a lot more effecient at absorbing the bumps on rough roads. I will have a chance to drive the car more tonight, I hope this isn't a placebo effect.

yes, front control arm bushings.
I have to say, the car does feel better, but last week I rented a Toyota Camry in Buffalo, drove it for 2 days, then came back and drove my TL and the Toyota was way smoother. But, I do believe the TL is better after the Compliance bushings. When I get some time, I am going to change the sway bar bushings, this helped with harshness in my wifes MDX.

Good to know it helped. Mine have been split for 60,000 miles now, maybe I'll get them replaced.
As for the Camry, it's supposed to be softer. The TL is a much more sporty car. Compare the TL's ride to an IS350 and the TL feels very compliant.

I had mine replaced under warranty, but the service person accidently put in the wrong code for one side and the paperwork had a price on it, I believe it was $170 per side. My bushings were torn completely.

I am not talking about how the car rides over bumps, I am talking about feeling engine/driveline vibrations through the gas peddle and floor. Almost like a race car with solid motor mounts. But not as bad.

If out of warranty, isn't it pretty much a wast of time and money to replace these given they crack with very few miles...I've read where some crack as early has 15k-20k miles. Unless they have changed the design and/or material, I would think it would be a waste.
MDXin: Did this help with any vibration issues, or primarily road feel?
