I would never do it.

Spend the extra money on lowering springs.

NO! Spring rate is compromised. For the amount of money a set of lowering springs will cost, do it the right way.

Are you kidding? It's NEVER ok to cut springs. If you can't afford quality parts and do things right, don't mod your car.

Haha. I'm new here too. But you should never cut your springs on any car really bot will never be worth it. Lowering a car isn't purely for looks increases handling by putting the cars center of gravity lower to the ground. When u buy the springs most the time it will come with more coils and less space kinda like it's wound a little tighter making it handling stiffer most of the time. Cutting it might compromise the the durability and performance of the current spring. There's a lot of work in designing a spring for a car. Equations and physics. It's totally worth the money. I hope this helped some. And please if anyone has a different opinion let me know because I am here to learn some new stuff. Goodluck.

Cutting springs is pretty stupid. Not only it's "rice" it's dangerous... heck even civic guys don't that anymore.
