Need Tire help!!

2007 Acura TL just went trought a set of Falken ZIEX ZE329 in 11 months. Inside of the tires are shot. How ofetn should they be rotated? When I purchased them last year they didnt have 235/40 18 so they installed 245/40 18. How often shouldDoes this tire size make a difference and what brand would anyone recommend putting on them? looking for something quiet

i rotate every time i get an oil change...so that's about 5-7k miles.

what was your camber and toe set to? were they in proper spec?

are you looking for a summer tire, all season, winter, etc?

Tires won't wear if the specs are set properly, so get it aligned before the tire replacement, or at that time if the shop does alignment. As far as tires if for a DD, just take a look at the Tire Rack site for the 245/40-18 size:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSe...40&diameter=18

Never had these, but the Generals are a 480 rating along with 93W for $151, and the prices go up from there.

sounds like alignment if insides are shot.. try and get an alignment once a year or atleast 18 months.. rotation will help overall but the insides have more to do with camber/toe .. forgot which one of them is more about the inside.. either way though alignment gets it back to good specs

Also, 245/40 18 or 235/40 18? Does it make a difference?

I have 255/40 17s on the way. There is a thread about it. Enter this into google:

site:tl.acurazine.com inaccurate 255/40 tires

Copy paste the above line into Google and click on first link.

255/40 thread

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/why-you-should-get-255-40-17-tires-your-oem-rims-595122/

as for 245/40 or 235/40

they are all within a few 0.x % of overal OEM diamter for tires so both are OK .. I was running 235/40 on my ASPECS and have no issues at all.. but then again I get alignment done regularly

it is annoying especially since it is around $100 but well worth it for protecting tire life

^firestone offers lifetime alignment. $150 and you can align whenever you want for as long as you own the car.

245/40/18 is an excellent size tire. I had that size before on 18" wheels.

Almost the same as the 17" OE Michelins 25.7"/25.6". Now if you want to save a few bucks with a smaller tire, go with the 235/40-18, but not worth the small difference in my opinion and the load rating is usually less than the OE 93 tires.

my falkens were shot in 16K miles....

but yeah i was lowered with a 1 time alignment which was done at the time of coils....

then i got the camber kit and shitty fuzion tires....and they lasted me 40K+ miles (~43-44K) miles....oil change every 5K miles and took her to firestone every 5K miles for an alignment....

Lifetime alignment FTW !!!
