My new wheels!

Hi guys,

I just picked up a set of these yesterday:

18x8.5 ST100 ET48 ( yea they're CH reps )

I'll be putting them on my TL-s with 215/40/18 hankook v12's with 25mm spacers. Hopefully will be able to go lower as well since i have a reduced sidewall now. Just wanted to say thanks to Azine since I always frequent the forums but don't have many posts! Pics will be up once mounted

Hmn... Don't look that much different from your stockies now. But I'm sure it will look pimp once you've mounted them on seeing as how you're already dropped too. What are you dropped on? Coilovers? Springs? Brand?

area you referring to the offset or the tire stretch? It's a 23 offset...how will that not work?

Wheels look really nice. Not sure about the 215.
And what is it with this stretching tires fad?? Just not my cup of tea. But to each their own I guess.

that's gonna look good. I like those wheels alot. But since you are gonna be putting 25mm spacer on there anyways, why not get some adapters and put some benz wheels on there. Those benz reps look better than CH reps I think

Looks sick but the pictures are tiny especially since the car only fills about 1/6th of the frame.

Bigger, better pics now!

and that's with the spacers? they look tucked in, and a lot. But it might be the negative camber, can't really tell from the pics.

I plan on it soon, the camber however isn't that bad , i realized it's also due to the sun shining down on the wheel well and its creating a sunken looking shadow. Once again the pics suck haha

I like the stretched tire look. Looks high tech and sporty and due to the angle of the side wall, it sure can't fold over! So its gotta be great for performance.. But I suspect that it may be a firmer ride also. Because tires actually do absorb shock. It fluctuates based on side wall strength and tire height and probably also the geometrics of the physical shape of the side wall. ie. bubbled out(lots of shock absorbtion) or slanted inward(reduce shock absorbtion) =)

offset question

I have a quick question, although I know that this thread is a little old...i'm considering getting these same wheels and I just want to understand why everyone says that the +48 offset will never work.

I hit up an offset calculator online and according to it, the difference between my stock 8" wheel w/ a +45 offset and this 8.5" wheel w/ a +48 offset means that the ouside edge of the wheel will EXTEND out an extra 3mm and that it will give me 9mm less clearance on the inside. So my question is??? why does everyone say it will never work? is it becuase of the 9mm less clearance inside because if it extends 3mm further out, that is surely no big deal at all. In fact, if they stick out 3mm further than the oem rims, then perhaps it might not even look bad?

Also, Jay did you say that they also had +35mm in stock for our bolt pattern? That would be perfect for me since I havent bought spacers like you already had...

to ASMCBRIDE, its because he has a type-s, and the brembo caliper makes you need a lower offset. +48 works fine on a base but still looks funny because they are so sucken in. I currently run a 35 offset on my base and there is no rub

but the offset calculator says that they will extend 3mm farther than the stock wheels...I dont thinkg the stock wheels look horrible/funny...although, its not lowered either...is it because it would look funny lowered with this type of offset? perhaps I need to see a picture of a lowered base TL w/ stock wheels or at least an offset that would match the stock wheels (17" +45)

I might be in the minority, but I think your car looked better on the stock Type-S waffles.

I"m also looking for an answer to your question. I'm trying to run 18s that are 18 x 8.5 front, and 18 x 9.5 rears with 48 offset. I'm driving an Auto so I don't want to deal with the brembo brakes issue, will those fit without rubbing? I'm currently on stock suspension but am looking into the possiblity of lowering with TEIN SS in the future. Hope someone can answer the offset question for the both of us.

Cheers
