My dealer is trying to rape me
I planning on purchasing Comptech Springs for my TL. I called the dealer to get a price for the install they quoted $89.00 per wheel (they are insane) I guess I will have to take it to a local shop.

$356 doesn't sound like rape
My dealer wants $680 to install four A-Spec coilover shocks. In other words, they're bolt-in, with no spring compressors needed. I wish I could get it done for your price. And I doubt you'll get it done for less elsewhere (perhaps you don't want Tony at the corner garage taking out your rear shelf and/or seats either--I know I wouldn't).

yeah the dealers around here want to charge something insane, like 500 just for install of the springs.. i am taking it to a local shop instead that will do it for 140

I understand the dealer charging a bit more as they are a more professional outfit and they have more liability in that they are a dealer, not just some random mechnic shop. That being said, I think that anything over $250 is a joke. My friend's shop does it for just over $200, and I have found another "legitimate" aftermarket shop in my area that will do it for $150. It is realy not that hard and is unlikely to get screwed up, so no reason to pay the premium for the dealer install.
