Megan racing coils! Need help!!!!

hey guys,

i just got my brand new megan racing coilover a week ago and i was hoping to install them from acura where i bought my car (the guy from the shop) said he will install them for $100 since he did my intake too i thought of taking it to him.
but now his faking on me and i dont think his gonna be able to install them and everywhere i take my car they charge at lease 400-500 and i jst cant afford that right now.

i was hoping to see if anyone that lives in md can help me and i pay them $150 or if not i,m thinking of selling them.

there brand new still box, never even been touched except me holding them for 5 sec to look at them. bought them for $895and willing to sell them for $800.

if u guys can help me please e-mail me at sorush.mazaher@yahoo.com

i posted another one of these threads yesterday but i think i accidently deleted it.

thank you guys.

Post it on your local craigslist. There should be someone around that would install it for you for cheap.

So let me get this straight........you buy a set of coilovers for $900.....you're unable to install them yourself, and unwilling to pay a shop to do it, so now you're going to sell them? SMH

Find another Aziner that knows their way around these cars, buy him beer and pizza, and get to it. Shouldn't take you more than four hours. Steve (6spdtl-s) and I did two cars simultaneously in four hours.

That's a lot for coilover install... 100-150$ should be what the going price @ the shop. At least here in Socal... If you were in socal I would help you. Very easy to do. Easier than springs. I have megans on my other car and I do my own stuff.

If time isn't the concern, people who aren't willing to learn/DIY kinda.... idk, bother me. That's what it's all about IMO.

Everyone's gotta learn sometime, man. Find someone to help you, get it done yourself. You don't even need air tools, but they do help.

...... around here, we help do suspension installs for free. that's how the NE crew does it.

Coilovers are easy.. esp since they're already fitted with top-hats. OP, do yourself a favor; put these in yourself.

You won't need camber kits either depending on how low you go. A good alignment is what's important. Read the sticky in the wheels and suspension section, it has all sorts of info about needing camber kits. I'd say you'd really need them if you wanted to dial in some negative camber to get agressive setups to tuck in better.

Not everyone wants to work on their cars. Some people rather pay someone to do the work. On the other hand, I love doing everything myself.

I have my back seats out right now doing the H&R coilovers.

Weren't you just selling some H&R coilovers?

OP-Go read the "Do I really need a camber kit" thread, all questions will be answered

I paid 350 to have mine installed, this included compressing new coilovers to mount top hats, i didn't mind paying it either.

I'm sorry but finding someone to drop the old suspension, and install new coilovers even with top hats installed for 150 is a long shot. Unless you get some backyard mechanic to do it. Haha i wish i could find someone to do this for me so cheap. I ended up paying to install the camber kit and that was 98 bucks so 150 for suspension install seems a lil unbelievable.

OP i would just call around, tell them the work involved to get the most accurate estimate and start saving money if you don't do yourself.

Do you know how you compress the coils to get the top hats on? Have someone push down on the top hat while you put the nut on. Takes two seconds. I've even done this myself before. Press down with one hand, thread the top nut with the other.

Paying $350 to have this done is robbery. You're paying your mechanic $100/hr to have them installed.

OP, first of all it is not that difficult. I think i did my springs in a couple of hours. I will be putting in coilovers on my in a little while. If you post in the Mid Atlantic section i am sure some people will help you out.

Second, you do not have to remove the back seats, i didn't. I just moved them enough that i could get my hand behind it to break the bolts. That was the hardest part of the install.

last, where in MD do you live?
