Love at first ride - Pirelli Zero Nero's.

Like most of you I suffered thru the original, marginal E42 for 18K miles, then got Kumhos when scary aquaplaning took place. Unfortunately got only 16K out of these -down to the wear bars and making the most amazing howling sound. Even with regular rotations and alignments they just got eaten up fast- maybe that funky rear suspension did a number. Also just could not tolerate the irritating tire roar anymore! Anyhow-had Zero Nero's installed and love driving my TL again! Road noise is non exsistent, no tramlining is experienced , but was very impressed at how it handled the wet. We got caught in a horrendous thunderstorm-complete white out at times- most cars stopped or creeped along with flashers going. The ZN not once had any trouble, cut right thru deep water and really navigated the raging water effortlessly! Have not pushed the tires in the twisties yet, wanted to wear them in a little better before pushing them but so far it has good transitional response and no squeel at all. I know by now that new tires almost always ride nice when new but I have faith that the cornering will be more than adequate for my needs. Will report more on its handling when I get a chance to navigate the Dragons Tail in the Carolinas- the next best thing to the German Nurenberg ring circuit. These tires are giving my TL the great ride I know it is capable of. Hunter Road Force balancing and alignment made sure that the ultimate potential was made possible. Good motoring you all!!

Hi csmeance,
We hang out a bit in Delray in the winter. Do you run PZNero's? Was told there is no wear/milage warranty from Pirelli but decided to take a chance.

I am putting the Pzero neros on my 04TL in the next day or two. I have the standard suspension and can't handle my EL42's anymore. I have managed 24,000 miles on them and they are not down to the wear bars...but are hard as rocks and noisy. I am going from the 17 inch rims to 18 inch Liquidmetal STATICs in chrome. They are 18x8.5 and I am putting 245/40/18's on them. I hope this setup offers better ride and noise levels. Tire rack speaks highly of these tires......Discount tire is doing the work. They matched the Tirerack price on the tires.....very happy with that. $156 per tire.
