Looking for SSR wheels
Anyone have 07-08 TL using SSR wheels?? I saw them when I attended this flush car show. And I fell in love. Mostly fell in love with the MS1s and the SP3s...

I've seen old school cars with old school wheels those are nice too... but mainly trying to see how SSR wheels would look on our cars. Especially that is lowered. Looking to lower my car to make it look even nicer. I barely got it and I'm still enjoying it =]

wow with that wheel you don't have to worry about brake dusts... but then again there would not be any cooling going to the brakes. Reason I picked SSR because everyone else have volks and works... and don't feel like jumping the bandwagon... I really dig SSR wheels at the same time.

I have the Type C. When I got my SSRs, I initially wanted Volks but no stores had them in stock and I didn't want to wait long for shipping from Japan. My local Discount Tire had the SSRs shipped in a week. The silver Type Cs go good with my car's color, so it's a good match. SSRs are lighter than most wheels, I hate fat wheels.

Fat wheels?
I was looking at the Type C indeed they are very light. Did you get the new version or the old version? If I recall I read somewhere that the old version tire rack carries them. And the new one isn't ... I've also looked at other wheels and it seems like pretty much there's a long wait for them. Something about made to order.

Fat wheels=heavy wheels. I must have gotten the first Type Cs as it was about 4 to 5 years ago. I don't think they are too different from the new ones your are referring to. I think there were some "racing" Type C that were maybe lighter than the regular Type C but can't confirm. Right after I got mine, I heard SSR was going out of business and was going to discontinue the Type C. I haven't paid much attention to any news after that-maybe they got bought out by another company. I also like the Wedsport tc005 but they don't fit over the Brembos according to TireRack. Have fun looking for wheels and take your time, there are too many choices.

Oh i see... I think SSR was bought by Tanabe ever since they went down. Cause whenever I go check wheels or parts.. I would always see the links on both site. I doubt a company would advertise another company's stuff on their own site.

But anyways... Wheel weight right now doesn't really concern me. I'm just looking for something good and nice. And something you won't see everyday. That's what lead me to SSR. I don't race my car so light or not wheels are fine.

I understand....to me, it's about reducing unsprung weight so power from the engine can be transferred to the ground more efficiently. I don't race at all but I love getting 23mpg in the city, I think having lightweight parts contribute to that.

It's just because I was driving over bumpy grass and that wheel was compressed at the time. Just like a true 4x4 machine. lol.

^ I've seen multiple threads on the BMW forums about finding cracks on the insides of the barrel.... scared me a little bit, but I got them anyways. Hoping for the best.

Where did you buy the SSR wheel at? From what I've also read and heard when tire rack use to sell em they were the older models. But now I believe they're new... and tire rack doesnt sell SSR wheels anymore.

Typ Cs are nice... I see them being used in competition racing since they are very light wheels. I wouldn't say Te37s though...maybe more like 5zigen style but much nicer.

I bent and cracked by Enkei RPO1's on the highway on one pot hole. I not sure what to call it, super soft or super weak or both. I think the City should pay for any damage to rims or tires due to pot holes.
