load factor question
Afternoon all!
Question about the tire load index. I had an old set of 205/55R16 winter tires (ex- RSX tires) and rims that I wanted to use for my TL. I was told that because the load factor on those 16's is 91 and the TL needs 93, it was not a good idea.
However, a load factor capacity of 91 is 5424 lbs (1356 x 4) and for 93 it's 5732 lbs (1433 x 4). Assuming the tires are properly inflated and I am never near the max load, is it a big deal to run with the 91 load factor tires? It's only about a 300 lbs difference of max load capacity between the 91's and 93's.
Obviously, if I was buying new tires I would choose the 93's but since I already have a good set of winters, I'd rather avoid the cost of new tires is possible.
thanks in advance...

well, i'm not sure as howe much the TL weights, but a top of head number is 4500 pounds. SO adding the weight of a driver and passenger, they sould hold up but just barely, (estimated 200LBS each than the force of aerodynamics)
